Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide, manufactured by CSI, is a flowable suspended concentrate fungicide that effectively kills and controls a broad-spectrum of fungi such as dollar spot on turfgrasses and other landscapes.

Formulated with the active ingredient propiconazole 14.3%, which works as a curative and control by blocking critical fungal cell membranes.

Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide readily mixes with water to result in effective, systemic control at a low use rate and less wear and tear on spraying equipment.

Tools Needed

Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide can be applied with backpack sprayer or handheld pump sprayer.

Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.

How to Use

  • Step 1: For turfgrass applications, mow your lawn at least one day in advance prior to spraying or wait until treated grass is completely dry before mowing. Determine how much Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment site in feet then multiply together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the fungi, use between 0.5 to 4 oz. of Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For general disease control in landscapes, apply 6 to 8 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water every 21 days. Do not apply more than 16 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. per calendar year nor apply more than 5.4 gallons of product per acre per calendar year. Do not exceed 4 oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. every 30 days on any variety of bermudagrass.
  • Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, add measured amount of Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide, and add the rest of the water. Provide sufficient agitation during mixing and application to maintain a uniform emulsion.
  • Step 3: Under light to moderate pressure, apply mixed solution to the top and bottom of leaves until wet. Make sure treatment areas are dry before application. For control of foliar diseases, allow sprayed area to completely dry before irrigation. For control of soil-borne diseases, this product can be watered in after application.

Where to Use

Use Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide on cool-seasoned turfgrasses, new seedlings in the 2 to 3 stage leaf growth, sod, nurseries (field), landscape plantings, herbaceous ornamentals, woody ornamentals, and nonbearing fruits and nuts (nurseries and landscape plantings).

Do not apply Honor Guard PPZ to African violets, begonias, Boston fern, or geraniums. This product cannot be applied to apple, cherry, citrus, nectarine, peach, pecan, plum, or walnut trees that will bear harvestable fruit within 12 months.

When to Use

Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide can be applied when conditions are favorable for fungi growth or when present on labeled foliage. Apply early in the morning when weather is calm and temperatures are below 90 degrees. Turfgrass will need to be established before it can be treated with this product.

Do not use on top of snow. Refer to the label for specified labeled disease control timing.

Safety Information

Honor Guard PPZ Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when used according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
