The Honda GX-160 Engine, manufactured by Honda, is a dependable, lightweight, and 4.8 horse power engine used to power professional pesticide spraying rigs.

With the Honda brand, you know you're getting a high-quality engine that will last you for years. This engine is easy to use and maintain and comes with a 3-year limited warranty. If you are looking to upgrade a spraying rig, this is the engine you need because of its fuel efficiency and high output.

Tools Needed

To use the Honda GX-160 Engine you will need to install it to the spray rig by mounting it to the system with a power screwdriver. You will also need 4 sets of 5/16 nut & bolt with a lock washer. 1/2 inch wrenches or electric drill with 1/2" socket to tighten the nut and bolt and an electric drill to drill holes for the mounting of the motor to the rig frame if bolt patterns vary from the previous motor.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Following the manual and guide that comes with the part, install the Honda Engine to your spraying rig system (or you could have our experts install it in house).
  • Step 2: To start the engine, first move the fuel lever to the ON position. Then move the choke lever to the CLOSED position, and then move the throttle lever 1/3 of the way toward the MAX setting. Then turn the engine switch to the ON position. Once this is done, use the retractable pull string to start it up.
  • Step 3: Move the choke lever to the open position and your spraying rig is ready for business. To turn the engine off when done, turn the engine switch and fuel valve to the off position. Keep regular maintenance of the engine and make sure it has adequate fluid to work.

Where to Use

The Honda GX-160 Engine is used as the heart of a spraying rig system. Use it to power a skid sprayer for pest control or weed control.

When to Use

Use the Honda GX-160 Engine when you are looking to upgrade your skid sprayer engine or to replace one that has worn out.

Safety Information

Please wear the proper PPE (Gloves, protective eyewear, safety mask) when handling this Honda engine and powering the spray rig.

Special Considerations

We have multiple Honda engines in stock. Make sure that you shop for the best one for your goals and preference before making a purchase.

If you are looking to replace your Honda GX-160 Engine, then examine the current pump you have. If it is bolted to the engine casing and a direct drive, then this engine will work. If it is a shaft driven pump like a roller pump or a diaphragm pump shaft driven, then it will not work.
