Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide
Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide is a specialized miticide that eliminates immature mites and their eggs on contact or via treated plant surfaces offering persistent control for up to two months in turf, ornamentals, fruit trees, and vines.
04/25/26
Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide, manufactured by Prime Source, is a unique selective miticide concentrate that stops mite outbreaks in turf and ornamentals before they spiral, targeting eggs and juvenile stages for lasting control.
Most miticides focus on adults, but by the time you kill adults, the next generation has already hatched. This miticide stops the cycle at the source. It sterilizes adult females and prevents eggs and immature mites from developing. Even if mites are hiding on the undersides of leaves (as they usually do), Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide penetrates the leaf tissue, ensuring contact with immature stages no matter where they hide.
Mite problems aren’t solved by chasing adults. They are solved by preventing the next generation, and that’s where Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide earns its keep. It’s not a one-size-fits-all knockdown product it’s a precision tool in a smart turf or ornamental management program. With residual activity lasting 2 months, you reduce the number of applications and time spent treating. Less labor, more control it’s a win-win.
Tools Needed
It may be applied with ground equipment, chemigation, or aircraft.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat ornamental plants, nonbearing fruit trees, and vines apply 0.28 to 0.55 oz. of Hexamite 1AQ Select Miticide per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For residential pome fruit, residential stone fruit, residential nut tree groups and pistachios, use 4 to 8 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Do not apply more than 24 ounces of product per acre per calendar year. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Start with half a tank filled with water, and begin agitation. Add the recommended amount of product. Finish filling the tank and maintain agitation throughout.
- Step 3: Spray thoroughly, ensuring full coverage of foliage, on both sides of leaves. Do not make more than one application per calendar year.
