Halo 75 WDG Select, manufactured by Prime Source LLC, is a water dispersible granule herbicide that delivers exceptional control of nutsedge and broadleaf weeds like ragweed during germination and early period of growth.

As a post emergent and pre-emergent product, it will work control weeds in as little as 7 days by inhibiting the enzyme acetolactate, which is essential to their growth. Once the weeds development system is interrupted, the leaves and growing point begin to discolor and die.

Halo 75 WDG Select will eliminate hard to control weeds like horsetail without harming established cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turfgrasses.

Tools Needed

To use Halo 75 WDG Select, you will need a backpack sprayer, hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig. For spot treatments, we recommend using a handheld 1-gallon pump sprayer.

How to Use

Spraying Turf

  • Step 1: Do not mow turfgrass 2 days prior to application and 2 days after for best results. Determine how much Halo 75 WDG Select to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet and multiply together (length X width = square footage). To find acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre 43,560 (square footage / 43,560 = acreage). For general spot treatments, use 0.03 (0.9 gram) of Halo 75 WDG Select in 1 to 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. You may add 2 teaspoons (1/3 oz.) of non-ionic surfactant like Alligare 90 per gallon of water. For broadcast treatments, use between 0.5 to 5.33 oz. of product per 15 to 20 gallons of water per acre. Do not apply more than 5 1/3 oz. of this product (0.25 lb. active ingredient) per acre per use season on turf. Refer to the label for specific application rates.
  • Step 2: To mix in pump or backpack sprayer, fill your sprayer halfway with the required amount of water, add the measured amount of Halo 75 WDG Select and surfactant if you are using one, and pour in the remaining half of water. Close the lid and shake to ensure an even mix. For hose-end sprayers, add in the measured amount of product and surfactant into hose-end sprayer container and then attach to the end of your hose. Do not add water as this will be added when you spray your hose.
  • Step 3: Spray directly above (no more than 4 feet above the ground) the top and underside of the targeted foliage for even coverage, but not to the point of run-off. Do not spray above desired foliage as plant injury may occur. After you sprayed emerged weeds, delay watering for 2 to 3 days. Once this time frame has passed water with an inch of irrigation. A second application may be used when 6 to 10 weeks have passed after the first treatment.

Where to Use

Halo 75 WDG Select can be used on established warm-seasoned and cool-seasoned turfgrass, ornamental turfgrass, landscaped areas, commercial and residential turfgrass, and other non-crop sites such as airports, cemeteries, fallow areas, golf courses, landscaped areas, public recreation areas, residential property, roadsides, school grounds, sod or turf seed farms, tank farms, lumberyards, fuel storage areas, fallow non-crop lands, fence rows, sport fields, landscaped areas with established woody ornamentals, fairgrounds, race tracks, tennis courts, campgrounds, and right of ways.

When to Use
