Goal 2XL Herbicide
Goal 2XL Herbicide is an easy-to-use pre- and post-emergent herbicide designed for broad-spectrum control of broadleaf and grassy weeds in a variety of crops and non-crops.
03/12/26
Goal 2XL Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a powerful pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide that takes down some of the toughest broadleaf weeds and grassy invaders, all while protecting your crops and non-crop areas.
This dual-action concentrate contains oxyfluorfen 22.3%, which controls a wide range of weeds such as cocklebur, crabgrass, and more by inhibiting photosynthesis in targeted plants. Because oxyfluorfen remains active in the soil for an extended period, you get ongoing protection against new weeds for weeks or even months, depending on weather conditions and application rates.
Goal 2XL Herbicide is a reliable, professional-grade contact herbicide that works both before and after weeds appear in numerous crops, transplants, and non-turf sites. Its dual-action control, long residual activity, and broad spectrum control make it ideal for growers, and grounds managers who demand reliable results.
Tools Needed
You will need a chemigation system or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Goal 2XL Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For spot treatments, use 0.2 to 3.0 fl. oz. of Goal XL Herbicide per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. If you are treating emerged weeds as spot treatment you will need to add 0.5 fl. oz. (1 Tbs) of nonionic surfactant per gallon of spray solution. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is mixed. Add the surfactant to the tank last.
- Step 3: If applied pre-emergence, treated soil must be thoroughly mixed to a depth of at least 2.5 inches. At least 0.25 inch of irrigation or rainfall is required to activate Goal 2XL Herbicide and should occur within 3 to 4 weeks after application. For post-emergent applications, spray the top and bottom of the weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff.
