Gateway Fungicide, manufactured by CSI, is an easy to apply protectant fungicide that provides superior control over pythium and downy mildew diseases on professionally managed turf areas like golf courses, sod farms, and lawns.

Provides both preventative and curative control against fungal diseases like pythium root rot by stopping spores from germinating with the active ingredient Cyazofamid 34.5%. Gain fast and long-term disease control by preventively inhibiting all stages of fungal growth within 7 days and for up to 28 days after treatment.

Gateway Fungicide gives professionals quick and excellent disease control within commercial lawns and professionally managed residential lawns. This suspension concentrate formula is also essential in preventing disease resistant pathogens from developing.

Tools Needed

Gateway Fungicide will need to be applied with either a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or hose-end sprayer.

This product is generally compatible with other insecticides, fungicides, fertilizers and micronutrient products.

How to Use

Backpack Sprayer Spraying

  • Step 1: Determine how much Gateway Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the disease on turf, use 0.45 to 0.9 fl. oz. of Gateway Fungicide in 2 to 4 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For newly seeded turf areas, apply 0.45 fl. oz. of product in 2 to 4 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. immediately after seeding. Do not apply more than two consecutive applications of product. Subsequent applications should be alternated with another registered fungicide with a different mode of action. Do not apply more than 2.7 fl. oz. of product per 1000 square feet per year.
  • Step 2: Slowly turn the Gateway Fungicide container upside down (with the cap closed) several times before pouring it into the spray tank. Fill the mixing tank with half of the required amount of water. Add the required amount of Gateway Fungicide slowly into the spray tank and fill the tank with the remaining half of water. Continue to agitate the spray tank throughout the mixing and spraying process until the solution is well-dissolved.
  • Step 3: Treat the bottom and top layers of grass blades until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Reapply this product every 14 days for present diseases and every 28 days as a preventative application. In the fall, retreat turf every 21 to 28 days to prevent diseases. After application, immediately water treated areas with 1/8 inches irrigation.

Where to Use

Apply Gateway Fungicide to pythium and downy mildew diseases on turf areas associated with golf courses (greens, tees and fairways), sod farms, seed farms, college and professional sports fields, residential and commercial lawns.

Application by home-owners to residential turf is prohibited.

When to Use

Gateway Fungicide can be used throughout the year on established and newly seeded turf when conditions are favorable for disease development, or when first visible disease symptoms appear. During the fall and spring season, this product can only be used when soil temperatures are between 50 degrees Fahrenheit and 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Keith's Pro Tips"Some plant pathogens are known to develop resistance to products used repeatedly for disease control. A disease management program that includes alternation and/or tank mixes between Gateway Fungicide and other labeled fungicides that have a different mode of action and/or control pathogens not controlled by Gateway Fungicide is essential to prevent disease resistant pathogen populations from developing."
Product DrawbacksGateway Fungicide has limited systemic activity, it should be utilized as a protectant fungicide and applied before the disease infects the crop.
