Tools Needed

Garlon XRT Herbicide can be applied with with a backpack sprayer, knapsack sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Garlon XRT Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For control of woody plants, use 1.25 to 4 quarts of Garlon XRT Herbicide per 100 gallons of water. Refer the label for specific rates.
  • Step 2: Mix Garlon XRT Herbicide with water according to the recommended dilution rates provided on the product label. If the mixture stands over 4 hours, reagitation is required.
  • Step 3: Ensure thorough coverage, but avoid excessive runoff to prevent waste and minimize environmental impact.

Keith's Pro Tips"To minimize spray drift, keep sprays no higher than brush tops and keep spray pressures low enough to provide coarse spray droplets. An agriculturally labeled thickening agent may be used to reduce drift. Directing ground application sprays toward the center of the application site will aid in reducing the possibility of offtarget movement of the sprays."
