Garlon 3A Herbicide
Garlon 3A Herbicide
Garlon 3A Herbicide is an excellent post-emergent herbicide that delivers enhanced woody plant and broadleaf weed control without altering treated sites.
Garlon 3A Herbicide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a nonvolatile amine herbicide formulation that offers complete weed control on 55 woody plant species and more than 25 broadleaf weed species in various terrains.
The active ingredient triclopyr 44.4%, is highly effective in controlling a wide range of woody plants and broadleaf weeds such as bindweed, kudzu, and dandelions.
Garlon 3A Herbicide is the product of choice for selective weed control in sensitive areas or unwanted folige control near water bodies.
Tools Needed
Garlon 3A Herbicide can be applied with a backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Garlon 3A Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For control of woody plants on non-cropland sites use 0.75 gallons of Garlon 3A Herbicide per 100 gallons of water per acre. General woody plant control will use 1-3 gallons of product per 100 gallons of water. Refer the label for specific rates.
- Step 2: Mix Garlon 3A Herbicide with water according to the recommended rates. The exact dilution ratio will depend on the target vegetation and application method.
- Step 3: Apply Garlon 3A Herbicide directly to the foliage of target plants using a calibrated sprayer. Ensure thorough coverage while minimizing drift.
Where to Use
Garlon 3A Herbicide can be used in range and pasture, forests and non-crop areas including manufacturing and storage sites, rights-of-way such as electrical power lines, communication lines, pipelines, roadsides, railroads, fence rows, non-irrigation ditch banks, and around farm buildings, and applications to grazed areas, and establishment and maintenance of wildlife openings, and in Christmas tree plantations and aquatic sites.
When to Use
Apply Garlon 3A Herbicide when weeds are present on days when rainfall is not expected to occur for 2 hours after application.
Do not use on newly seeded grass until well established as indicated by vigorous growth and development of secondary root system and tillering.
Do not reseed Christmas tree areas treated with this product for a minimum of three weeks after application.
Safety Information
Garlon 3A Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Keep people and pets out of treated areas for 48 hours after application.
Special Considerations
Do not use Garlon 3A Herbicide if legumes, such as clover, are present and injury cannot be tolerated.
Spray may cause temporary damage and growth suppression where contact with conifers occurs; however, injured conifers should recover and grow normally. Over-the-top spray applications can kill pines.
