Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide

Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide, manufactured by Sepro, is a smart, selective systemic aquatic herbicide that offers precision, long-term suppression, and low environmental impact against submersed and floating aquatic weeds in various water sites, including shorelines.

This suspended concentrate herbicide isn’t your average aquatic herbicide. It represents a modern, environmentally-conscious approach to aquatic plant control. Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicides uses penoxsulam, a systemic ALS-inhibitor that inhibits amino acid production in plants something that target weeds can’t survive without. Once applied, expect 1 to 2 seasons of control which ensures oxygen levels in water doesnt drop drastically, avoids fish kills caused by rapid decomposition, and gives wildlife time to adjust as plant density declines. 

Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide is a highly selective systemic aquatic herbicide that provides excellent aquatic weed control in lakes, ponds, canals, and more with its low-toxicity profile. Thanks to its residual activity and systemic kill, one well-timed application can keep problem species suppressed for months meaning less labor, less chemical use, and better results.

Tools Needed

When applying by boat or with ground equipment to emergent or floating-leaved vegetation, use boom-type, backpack or hydraulic handgun equipment. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide you need by calculating the area size of your aquatic water body. To do this, you will need to calculate the pond's surface area by measuring (in feet) the water's length, width, and depth (length x width x depth = surface area square footage / 43,560 = surface acre). To treat water sites with a 5 PPB and a depth of 1 feet, use 0.9 fl. oz. of Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide per surface acre. Use 10 gallons of water per acre (gpa) or more when making a post-emergence application by air. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed. 
• Step 3: Apply evenly across the surface of the water where undesired weeds are present. 

Where to Use

Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide can be used in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, marshes, wetlands, bayous, drainage ditches, canals, and slow-moving or quiescent bodies of water, including shoreline and riparian areas within or adjacent to these and other aquatic sites. 

When to Use

Apply when plants are actively growing.

Safety Information

Galleon SC Aquatic Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

There are no restrictions on consumption of treated water for potable use or by livestock, pets or other animals.

There are no restrictions on the use of treated water for recreational purposes, including swimming and fishing.

Special Considerations

For post-emergence foliar applications or exposed sediment treatments, Galleon SC should be mixed with a surfactant. Use only surfactants that are approved or appropriate for aquatic use. Use of organosilicone surfactants with Galleon SC is not recommended.

For treatments out of water, do not permit spray mists containing this product to drift onto desirable broadleaf plants as injury may occur.
