Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide

Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide, manufactured by Prime Source, is a dependable pre- and post-emergent herbicide that delivers fast contact burn and long residual control against grassy and broadleaf weeds in and around non-crop areas, landscapes, dormant turf, and aquatic areas.

This water-dispersable granule herbicide contains flumioxazin, which works by inhibiting an enzyme essential for chlorophyll production, causing rapid cell membrane damage and plant death. With long-lasting control, you won’t need to reapply every few weeks. That saves you time, manpower, and labor costs especially in hard-to-maintain sites.

Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide is an excellent broad-spectrum pre- and post-emergent herbicide that provides clean results consistently even in problem areas like gravel paths, nursery rows, and pond edges. Takes down over 100 of the toughest weed species, including crabgrass, pigweed, chickweed, and more.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For applications around established woody landscape ornamentals and to maintain bare ground non-crop areas, apply 0.12 to 0.25 oz. of Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide per 1 gallon of water per 500-1,000 sq. ft. For spot treatments, use 0.25 oz. of product and 2 tsp. of non-ionic surfactant per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution is well-mixed. 
• Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of the weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Do not irrigate within 1 hour before or after application. If a second application is required to provide control, make the treatment once weeds are first observed, but no sooner than 28 days after the last treatment.

Where to Use

Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide can be used in Container and Field Grown Conifers (Including Christmas Trees) and Deciduous Trees, Around Established Woody Ornamentals in Landscapes, To Maintain Bare Ground Non-Crop Areas, Conifer and Poplar Re-Forestation Sites, Dormant Turfgrass, Management of Undesirable Aquatic Vegetation in Slow Moving or Quiescent Waters, and to Maintain Bare Ground Non-Crop Areas.

Do not apply to warm-season turfgrass that has been over-seeded with cool-season turfgrass.

When to Use

For pre-emergent control, apply before weeds are present. For post-emergent control, make applications on sunny days when temperatures are above 65 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Do not apply in fall before turfgrass has ceased active growth or in late winter/early spring after turfgrass has resumed active growth.

Do not mow turfgrass within 12 hours after application.

Safety Information

Flumioxazin 51 WDG Select Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Do not graze treated fields or hay to livestock.

Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until the spray has dried.

Special Considerations

There is no post-application holding restriction against the use of treated water for drinking or recreational purposes (e.g., swimming, fishing). 

Treated water may be used for irrigation purposes on turf and landscape ornamentals as outlined in the Irrigation Restrictions Following Application table on the label.
