Flumigard SC Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare, is a fast-acting contact herbicide that provides broad-spectrum control of weeds in various settings with complete pre- and post-emergent control.

Provides long-lasting control with the active ingredient flumioxazin 42.0%, which offers a rapid knockdown of aquatic and dryland weeds within 28 days of treatment.

Flumigard SC Herbicide is a effective suspended concentrate herbicide that creates a weed-free environment for residential and commercial landscapes and aquatic settings.

Tools Needed

To apply Flumigard SC Herbicide, you will need to use a backpack or handgun sprayer, airboat, helicopter, airplane, or other application equipment.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Flumigard SC Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For general land applications with a backpack sprayer, use 0.09 fl. oz. of Flumigard SC Herbicide in 1 gallon of water to per 500 sq. ft. or 8 fl. oz. of product in 40 gallons of water per acre. For surface sprays on aquatic sites with water depths lesser or greater than 3 feet, use 6-12 oz. of product per surface acre. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Flumigard SC Herbicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the spray tank lid and agitate until the solutions is dissolved.
  • Step 3: Treat 1/3 to 1/2 of the water area in a single operation and wait at least 10 to 14 days between treatments. Begin treatment along the shore and proceed outwards in bands to allow fish to move into untreated areas. Spray the weeds on lands until they are wet, but not to the point of runoff.

Where to Use

Flumigard SC Herbicide can be used in slow moving and quiescent waters, non-crop areas, conifer and poplar re-forestation sites. It may also be used in container and field grown conifers, deciduous trees, around established woody ornamentals in landscapes, and dormant bermudagrass.

Do not use in water utilized for crawfish farming.

When to Use

Apply Flumigard SC Herbicide when weeds are present and not under stress due to drought, excessive water and extremes in temperatures or disease. Make applications on sunny days when temperatures are above 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

Safety Information

Flumigard SC Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until the sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

Flumigard SC Herbicide may cause spotting or speckling on foliage if the spray solution directly contacts actively growing plant foliage or green bark. Leaves that receive indirect (drift) spray contact may be affected in a similar manner.

Translocation of this product is limited, and under most conditions established and vigorously growing woody ornamentals will rapidly outgrow any injury symptoms.

However, direct application to actively growing foliage can cause severe injury or death with sensitive ornamental plant species, especially in herbaceous bedding plants and flowers.
