The RedTop Flycatcher are manufactured by PestTrappa and is designed to capture and contain thousands of flies. The flytrap is a bag filled with a special formulated FC2 attractant that flies cannot resist.

The Red Top Flycatcher is fully disposable and simply thrown away when full. The Red Top Flycatcher is easy to prepare by adding water to the attractant and then hanging in the designated area where flies are a problem. To keep flies away from outdoor fun, or to keep them from sneaking indoors, hang a RedTop Flycatcher nearby.

Tools Needed

Depending on where The Red Top Flycatcher is being hung, a nail, hammer, and some twine or string may be needed.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Remove the red top from the dish and unfold the bag so it is totally opened up.
  • Step 2: Straighten out the mesh cone and make sure that the hole at its apex is open.
  • Step 3: Add the bait to the FlyCatcher bag and then add 1 quart of lukewarm water to the bag.
  • Step 4: If needed, use a hammer and nail or a string and hang the Red Top Flycatcher outdoors. Hang it 30 feet away from the area that needs protection and at least 5 feet from the ground. When the bag becomes full, throw it away and replace it with a new bag.

Where to Use

The RedTop Flycatchers is suitable for all areas where flies are a problem such as cattle farm, stables and chicken breading facilities. The fly attractant is activated by the heat of the sun. It is not beneficial to hang the flytrap indoors or in areas that are cool. Hang the Redtop outdoors in a suitable position with sufficient sunlight. It can be hung outside of barns, horse stables, restaurants, homes, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and other outdoor areas where flies are a nuisance.

When to Use

The Red Top Flycatcher is most beneficial when used during warm weather months. Hang the trap before outdoor events, parties, and BBQ's.

Safety Information

The RedTop Flycatcher is safe to use around humans and pets when used according to the product label. The bait attractant is non-toxic and does not contain poison.

Special Considerations

If the water in the RedTop Flycatcher evaporates before it is full, use a water hose to fill it from the top of the bag.

Great Product
Easy to set-up and use, a no brainer. Very effective. Only problem was that the bag developed a small leak. Disposal was a little messy.

Best Fly Trap!
I was looking for something to put near my feral cat colony feeding stations because the flies are horrendous. And I’ve tried everything out there with little success. These traps work so well, the fly infestation near my feeding stations has been greatly reduced. I am actually getting ready to place my next order now...

Can sit out in the evening without pesky flies!!
There is no substitute for Flies Be Gone. I tried a product called Red Top which advertises it is an equal. Nope!! I am in a farming, rural area of south central Kansas. Until we tried Flies Be Gone two years ago we could not sit out in the evening around our lily pond for the number of flies. Within a week after hanging FBG there was virtually no flies to pester us while trying to relax with a glass of wine. Highly recommend this product and no other to get rid of flies. SG

Questions and Answers
  1. Q:How long do these last?
    6/4/19
A:The original ones would last 2-3 weeks for me at my feral cat colonies. These are made differently now and they don’t last very long any more. I’ve noticed the bags seem thicker but the flies now attach to the bottom of the bags and make tiny holes so the liquid leaks out. I just put a new bag by one of my colonies less than a week ago and this morning the majority of the liquid was gone and was on the ground beneath the bag. I noticed flies attached to the bottoms of the bag on the outside and what looked like tiny perforations.
