Fire Ant Quarantine Granules
Fire Ant Quarantine Granules
Sold and manufactured by Solutions Pest & Lawn, Fire Ant Quarantine Granules are intended to destroy imported fire ant infestations but can also treat grubs, fungus gnats, mealybugs and root weevil larvae. Fire ants are an incredibly invasive species and will destroy most vegetation such as pastures, flower beds, potted plants, and trees. Fire Ant Quarantine Granules is a cost-effective way to destroy fire ants and keep them from hitchhiking when plants and other nursery items are being transported and preventing them from spreading to unaffected states.
Just mix the Fire Ant Quarantine Granules in soils or mulch before planting. Fire ants that come in contact with the treated soil or mulch will soon die. Fire Ant Quarantine Granules is a great product to have on hand to protect nurseries, lawns, flower beds, potted plants and pastures from imported fire ants.
Tools Needed
Tools needed are chemical resistant gloves and the appropriate tools (such as a hand spreader) for mixing the Fire Ant Quarantine Granules in potting soils.
How to Use
Step 1: Determine the size area or amount of potting soil media or mulch being treated in cubic yards (length x width x height) as well as what pest you are looking to treat. We recommend using between 1 to 7.5 lbs. of Fire Ant Quarantine Granules per cubic foot of potting media. The 1 lb. rate will give you up to 6 months of control for fire ants and the 7.5 lb. rate will give you continuous control of fire ants in potting media.
Step 2: Measure out the amount of Fire Ant Quarantine Granules needed and add directly to soil or use a spreader making sure to get a nice even layer.
Step 3: Repeat the process as necessary but do not exceed 3 applications per season.
Where to Use
Fire Ant Quarantine is primarily used as a potting soil additive to prevent imported fire ants from spreading to other plants when shipped and when received.
When to Use
Fire Ant Quarantine Granules can be applied as a preventative method before shipping or receiving potted plants, flowers, trees, shrubs and other nursery items being shipped in soil.
Safety Information
When used per label instructions, Fire Ant Quarantine Granules are safe for humans and pets. When applying the granules, wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) listed on the label.
Special Considerations
Fire Ant Quarantine Granules can also be pre-mixed with sand before adding to potting soil to ensure it is adequately distributed.
