ExciteR Pyrethrin Insecticide
ExciteR Pyrethrin Insecticide
ExciteR is manufactured by Zoecon and is a broad-spectrum concentrate designed to control a wide range of insects. It uses a dual ingredient system made with pyrethrins as an insecticide and PBO as a synergist to provide quick control. ExciteR can be mixed with oil or water and combined with other compatible insecticides to control severe infestations. It is an odorless insecticide, making it ideal to use in sensitive areas, such as hospitals.
ExciteR can be applied with pump sprayers or ULV foggers to control crawling or flying insects. The formula of ExciteR forces insects like fleas, ants, and cockroaches out of cracks and crevices for efficient control. This is a great product to have when faced with various insects in indoor or outdoor area.
Tools Needed
To use ExciteR Pyrethrin Insecticide, you will need a ULV or thermal fogger, backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or a professional pump sprayer. ExciteR can also be used as a flea dip for dogs over 12 weeks old. This treatment requires with a small spray bottle or sponge.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much ExciteR you will need for your application by first calculating the square footage of the area to be treated. To do this, measure (in feet) the area length and width and multiply the two values (length x width = square footage). For most applications 2.125 to 4.25 ounces of ExciteR is used per gallon of water to treat 750 sq. ft indoors or 0.25 to 0.5 fl. oz. to treat 1000 sq. ft. outdoors in 2.5 to 5.0 gallons of water. So for example, if you are treating indoors and measured an area of 1,500 sq. ft., you would need 4.25 to 8.50 fl. oz. mixed in 2 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with 1/2 of required amount of water. Add the correct amount of ExciteR to the tank.Add the other 1/2 gallon of water to the spray tank and shake the spray tank to mix thoroughly.
- Step 3:Apply to indoor and outdoor surface areas listed on the label. Do not apply more than once a day.
Where to Use
Areas where ExciteR can be applied varies depending on the application equipment used, the surface area being treated, and the targeted pest being controlled.
ExciteR Pyrethrin Insecticide can be applied to indoor and outdoor areas around residential, commercial, and industrial areas. It is ideal to use in homes, hotels, restaurants, meat plants, poultry plants, hospitals, schools, and more. When applied indoors it can be sprayed on rugs, pet bedding, cracks and crevice areas around baseboards, walls, windows, doors, cabinets, dark corners, furniture and other areas listed on the label for the targeted pests.
When using ExciteR outdoors it can be applied around building perimeters, porches, patios, doors, windows, along pathways, and turfs. It can be used with a fogger to eliminate mosquitoes from various outdoor recreational areas.
ExciteR can be applied to dogs over 12 weeks old as flea treatment. It cannot be applied to cats or kittens.
When to Use
ExciteR Pyrethrin Insecticide can be used when various types of insects are invading indoor and outdoor areas. It is ideal to use when infestations are in sensitive areas where pesticide odors can be offensive. ExciteR is ideal to use when infestations have become resistant to other insecticides and to flush insects out of cracks and crevice areas.
Safety Information

Q:Label states product not for vegetable garden use. However, the two active ingredients Pyrethrins and piperonyl butoxide are the same ingredients found in many garden pyrethrin based insecticides; albeit in lower concentrations. So... what's the deal???4/18/24A:ExciteR Pyrethrin is not recommended for use in vegetable gardens because it can be harmful to beneficial insects such as bees, which are crucial for pollination. Additionally, residues from pyrethrin-based insecticides can persist on fruits and vegetables, posing potential health risks to humans. The potential harm to humans from pyrethrin-based insecticides like ExciteR Pyrethrin is not solely due to higher concentrations of active ingredients. Even at lower concentrations, pyrethrins can still pose health risks if ingested or absorbed through the skin. These risks include skin irritation, respiratory irritation, and potential toxicity if ingested in large amounts. Therefore, it's essential to follow safety precautions and use insecticides according to their labeled instructions to minimize any potential harm.
