Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide, manufactured by Bayer, is a highly effective, long-lasting pre-emergent herbicide designed to prevent weeds for industrial vegetation management, bare ground control, and non-crop areas.

This powerful suspended concentrate contains the active ingredient Indaziflam, which works by inhibiting cellulose biosynthesis in germinating weeds, preventing root and shoot development. Additionally, it works for weeds that have become resistant to commonly used herbicides such as ryegrass, crabgrass, and foxtails.

Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide is an unmatched selective pre-emergent herbicide concentrate that provides up to 8 months of broadleaf and grassy weed suppression.

Tools Needed

A handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, boom sprayer, or spray rig may be used.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. For the square footage, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). A general application will use between 5 to 7 fl. oz. of Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide per 10 to 100 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label instructions for specific application rates and restrictions.
  • Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and agitate until the solution is well-mixed.
  • Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not the point of runoff. After 2 days, irrigate the treated area with 0.25 inches of water.

Where to Use

Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide can be used in Non-Residential Non-Crop Areas, Railroad and Rail Yards, Managed Roadsides, Fence Rows, Utilities, Hardscapes, Industrial, Municipal, and Government Sites, and for the Release or Restoration of Desirable Vegetation in Parks and Open Space, Wildlife Management Areas, Recreational Areas, Fire Rehabilitation Areas, Prairies and Fire breaks.

Do not use on residential lawns or commercial lawns, golf courses, sod farms, or production and landscape ornamentals.

When to Use

Apply before weeds are present on days when rainfall is not expected to occur within 48 hours of application.

Do not apply to frozen or snow-covered ground.

Safety Information

Esplanade 200 SC Herbicide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not graze or feed forage, hay, or straw from treated areas to livestock.

Special Considerations

If planning to plant desirable species in the treated area, avoid planting for at least eight months after application. A field bioassay must then be completed before planting.
