Drive XLR8 Herbicide, manufactured by BASF, is a effective post-emergent weed killer that is safe to use on various types of turf grasses and is especially recommended for treating crabgrass.

This product has a water-based formulation which can be quickly absorbed by the target plant by the roots, shoots, and foliage, and translocated throughout the weed for safe yet fast elimination.

Drive XLR8 Herbicide provides faster elimination of weeds like clover, dandelion, morningglory, and other troublesome weeds within 7-28 days of application. Rainfast within 1 hour or less of application resulting in minimum runoff into environment and less product waste helping to save time and money in reapplication.

Tools Needed

To apply Drive XLR8 Crabgrass Killer, a pump sprayer, a backpack sprayer or a skid sprayer is needed. For general applications, we recommend using a backpack sprayer.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Drive XLR8 Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. You can do this by measuring the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). Depending on the weed you are treating, the mixing rates are between 0.5 and 1.45 fluid ounces per gallon of water per 1,000 square feet. For spot treatments, mix 3 tablespoons of product and 1.5 tablespoons of methylated seed oil in 1 gallon to treat 1,000 square feet.
  • Step 2: Begin creating your solution by filling your spray tank with 0.5 gallon of water. Add your measured amount of Drive XLR8 Herbicide, then your desired amount of methylated seed oil. Pour the remaining 0.5 gallon of water in the spray tank, close the container, and shake well to mix.
  • Step 3: After diluting the Drive XLR8 in water, you can begin to spray your solution. Make applications on your measured area, avoiding ornamental plants and tree roots. For even coverage, use a coarse spray setting. This will make wind drift less likely when applying. Spray until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Reapplications can be made 14 to 21 days after your initial application.

Where to Use

Drive XLR8 can be used on residential or commercial turfs and lawns. It is ideal to use on golf courses (except for collars or greens), sports fields, cemetery properties, sod farms, and other outdoor areas where targeted weeds are found.

When to Use

Drive XLR8 Herbicide can be applied when targeted weeds on label-approved areas have already started to grow. Because this product is a post-emergent herbicide, Drive XLR8 has to come in contact with the weeds to kill them.

Drive XLR8 Didn't let me down
Drive XLR8 delivers as advertised, a great killer of Crabgrass! I admit, I was skeptical, I had a serious crabgrass problem, and tried other products and they didn't work. I used this one recently and all the crabgrass were dead in a few days! Just mindblowingly effective!
