Imitator 25% Concentrate, manufactured by Drexel, is a fast-acting post-emergent herbicide designed to control a wide range of annual and perennial weeds, bushes, grasses, and more.
Rain-fast just 2 hours after application, it works quickly with visible yellowing and wilting in 2-4 days.
Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate enters the plant through foliage and moves systemically to the roots, killing weeds by inhibiting growth. Any product not absorbed by the plant breaks down into natural materials without moving in or on the soil to untreated plants.
Tools Needed
Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate may be used in a hand-held pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or hose end sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For easy-to-kill weeds (such as seedlings) you will need 3 fl. ozs. of Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate to 1 gallon of water. This will be enough to spot-treat 300 sq. ft.
- Step 2: Begin filling your sprayer halfway with water, and add the measured amount of Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate to the sprayer. Fill your sprayer the rest of the way with the remaining half of water and agitate thoroughly.
- Step 3: Begin spraying your mixture of Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate on your target grasses or weeds until thoroughly wet. Check back after 7 to 10 days and reapply if necessary for harder-to-control weeds.
Where to Use
Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate can be applied along fences, paths, sidewalks, driveways, patios, around ornamental plantings, flower beds, shrubs, trees, around building structures, and in brick and gravel walkways.
This product can also be applied around water and in wetland areas including land adjacent to and surrounding domestic water supply reservoirs, supply streams, lakes and ponds.
When to Use
Apply Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate when grasses and weeds are actively growing. For best results, apply this product during warm, sunny weather when the temperature is above 60° Fahrenheit, to enhance systemic movement from foliage to the roots.

Drexel Imitator 25% Concentrate is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Special Considerations
Drexel Imitator 25% concentrate has little to no residual soil activity, it must make contact with the foliage to take effect. Gusty winds over 5 mph can cause drift and unwanted injury to desirable plants.
