Discus L Insecticide
Discus L Insecticide is an effective systemic insecticide that delivers fast knockdown and long-term residual control of a wide range of pests on ornamentals and non-bearing fruit and nut trees. It also becomes rainfast within 2 hours, ensuring reliable performance even under unpredictable weather conditions.
04/22/26
Discus L Insecticide, manufactured by OHP, is a flexible, long-term insecticide solution that controls a broad-spectrum of pests that threaten ornamental and non-bearing fruit and nut tree crops in greenhouses and nurseries.
This insecticide concentrate provides fast knockdown of active pests and translaminar activity, meaning the product penetrates the leaf surface to control insects feeding on both the upper and lower sides of leaves such as ants, billbugs, and more. It is also low-odor, making it easier to work with in enclosed greenhouse environments.
Discuss L Insecticide combines speed, longevity, flexibility, and ease of use a combination that’s hard to beat for greenhouse and nursery owners facing one or multiple types of ornamental and non-bearing fruit and nut tree pests. From its broad-spectrum activity and dual application methods to its residual control and rainfast reliability, Discus L is built to meet the real-world needs of growers.
Tools Needed
You will need a soil injector tool, chemigation system, handheld pump sprayer, or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Discus L Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For foliar applications to ornamentals grown in nurseries and greenhouses, apply 1/4 or 1/2 fl. oz. of Discus L Insecticide per 1 gallon of water. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray thoroughly until the foliage, including the top and bottom of leaves are wet. Do not spray to the point of runoff.
Where to Use
Discus L Insecticide can be used on ornamentals and non-bearing fruit and nut trees in greenhouses and nurseries.
Do not apply this product, by any application method, to linden, basswood, or other Tilia species.
When to Use

Safety Information
Discus L Insecticide is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Special Considerations
Application to trees already heavily infested may not prevent the eventual loss of the trees due to existing pest damage and tree stress.
