Dipel PRO DF Biological Insecticide
Dipel PRO DF Biological insecticide is a high-quality biological insecticide that provides effective control of over 30 species of pests in turf, ornamentals, and aquatic ornamentals like water lilies.
11/04/25
Dipel PRO DF Biological Insecticide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a fast-acting biological insecticide that provides effective, broad-spectrum control of caterpillar pests. Its OMRI-listed formulation makes it a trusted choice for organic growers seeking safe and environmentally friendly pest management.
This dry flowable insecticide contains a naturally occurring soil bacterium known as Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki (Btk). This microorganism specifically targets the larval stages (caterpillars) of many lepidopteran pests like armyworms, loopers, bagworms, cabbageworms, gypsy moths, tent caterpillars, and more. When the pests ingest treated foliage, the toxins from the product activate in their alkaline gut, damaging the gut lining and causing the larvae to stop feeding and eventually die from infection or starvation/
Whether you're a farmer managing acres of cabbage, a landscaper tired of webworms, or a home gardener sick of caterpillars munching on your flowers, DiPel PRO DF Biological Insecticide is a reliable, safe, and effective solution. This product is OMRI Listed, meaning it can be safely used in USDA Organic Production. If you're managing an organic garden or farm, Dipel PRO DF is a must-have biological tool.
Tools Needed
You will need a hydraulic sprayer, mist blower, chemigation system, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Dipel PRO DF Biological Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat flowers, bedding plants, and ornamentals, apply 1/4 to 1 pound of Dipel PRO DF Biological Insecticide per 20 gallons of water per acre. For greenhouse/shadehouse and outdoor nursery, use 1/2 to 2 pounds of product per 50 gallons of water per acre. For aquatic ornamentals, apply 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of product per 1 quart of water per 100 sq. ft. To treat forest, shade, sugar maple trees, and ornamental trees, apply 1/2 to 1 pound of product per 100 gallons of water (use 10 gallons of water if you are using mist blowers).
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake well.
- Step 3: Ensure thorough coverage of leaf surfaces, including the top and bottom. Repeat treatment as necessary. When treatment is completed, avoid field irrigation for 24 to 48 hours after application.
