DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide
DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide is a professional-grade granulated insecticide applied by Certified Applicators. It controls insects such as chinch bugs, fire ants, and mole crickets. DeltaGard G protects plants from label-listed pests for up to three months and will not harm them.
09/21/25
DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide, manufactured by Bayer, is a granulated insecticide. Certified pest control applicators use it to treat outdoor areas to eliminate chinch bugs, roaches, spiders, and more.
It is formulated with the active ingredient deltamethrin, which kills insects after they come in contact with and ingest it. It can be applied as a broadcast treatment on lawns, a spot treatment for fire ants or digging wasps, or an interior treatment in landscapes.
DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide is an easy-to-apply insecticide granule that easily spreads on treated areas like turf and landscape plantings. These low-odor insecticide application rates are 50 times lower than standard granular insecticides.
Tools Needed
A handheld spreader or push spread is needed. It is recommended that you use a handheld spreader when applying it to small lawn areas.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much DeltaGard G you will need by measuring the treatment area's square footage. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). DeltaGard G should be applied at a rate of 2 to 3 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. For example, if you measured a treatment area of 3,000 sq. ft., you would need to apply 6 to 9 lbs. of DeltaGard G to cover the entire region.
- Step 2: Pour the correct amount of DeltaGard G in the spreader, depending on the square footage being treated. Adjust the spreader setting according to your manufacturer's model to ensure an even application. Walk at a steady pace, starting from the perimeter of the yard and working towards the middle, releasing the granules evenly onto the ground.
- Step 3: If rain is not in the forecast, water the treated areas with a quarter to half an inch of water. Do not apply DeltaGard G more than once every 2 weeks.
Where to Use
DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide is used to control insect pests in turfgrasses, landscape ornamental plantings (including interior plantscapes), and perimeters around commercial, industrial, residential, and recreational areas.
When to Use
It is most effective when applied as soon as insect activity is identified. It should not be applied more than once a week. For continuous control, we recommend applying DeltaGard G every three months.
Safety Information
DeltaGard G Granular Insecticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product.
