Critter Ridder Deer & Rabbit Repellent was formerly manufactured by Havahart as Deer Off Repellent and is now manufactured by Safer Brand. Critter Ridder Deer & Rabbit Repellant is proven to repel deer, rabbits, and squirrels, putting an end to damage to trees, shrubs, gardens and landscape plants. The product works via dual-action formula, repelling animals both by and off-putting smell and taste. Deer have highly elevated senses of smell and taste, which enable them to find food and detect danger.

The formula is a mixture of a rotting egg that sends a warning signal via its odor because it smells like a dead animal. It is also mixed with spicy peppers and garlic wich will scare off animals via the strong taste. Once applied in an area, Critter Ridder will provide 90 days of protection.

Tools Needed

To use Critter Ridder Deer & Rabbit Repellent Concentrate, you will need to dilute the product in a handheld or backpack sprayer. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Critter Ridder Deer & Rabbit Repellent concentrate you need by calculating the square footage of the area you wish to treat. You can do this by measuring the area's length and width and multiply the two measurements to get the square footage. The manufacturer says to mix the concentrate in water 1 part concentrate to 7 parts water. So for example, 4 oz. of concentrate mixed with 28 oz. of water makes 32 oz. of spray mixture which can treat 4,000 sq. ft. of area. 
• Step 2: Shake the container of Critter Ridder Deer & Rabbit Repellent concentrate thoroughly prior to mixing. Mix the appropriate amount of concentrate that you need based on your measurements into a sprayer with the appropriate amount of water. Shake well and you will be ready to spray.
• Step 3: Apply the Critter Ritter mixture to the target area that you want your target pest to stay away from. When spraying ornamentals, spray the leaves, stems, and branches thoroughly from all angles to the point of runoff or when leaves appear wet. Reapply as needed for continued control.

Where To Use

Apply Critter Ridder to outdoor areas where animals are actively causing damage such as lawns, flowerbeds, plants, gardens, bird feeders, trees, near barns & sheds, and near trash cans.

When To Use

Apply Critter Ridder when you have encountered nuisance animals and pests around your property. This can be particularly common in the fall when critters are looking for warm places to stay or are rummaging around for food. Do not apply at temperatures below 40°F, or in wet, windy conditions. Repeat application if the effects of the first treatment appear to be fading.

Critter Ridder Deer & Rabbit Repellent Concentrate is safe to use when applied according to label directions. Please wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying (gloves, protective eyewear, long-sleeved clothing).

Special Considerations

Not for direct use on plants intended for human consumption (i.e. food plants.) This product contains egg solids which may cause allergic reactions in some individuals. Do not allow spray to drift onto plants intended for human consumption.
