Deadline Ornamental Mini-Pellets
Deadline Ornamental Mini-Pellets is a unique min-pellet molluscicide designed specifically to control slugs and snails around ornamental plants, vegetables, tomatoes, and other crops.
10/29/25
Deadline Ornamental Mini-Pellets, manufactured by Amvac, is an effective and highly palatable mini-pellet slug and snail bait around gardens and individual plants with a rain- and irrigation-resistant formula that lasts up to 14 days even through 6 inches of rain.
These mini-pellets contain 4% metaldehyde, a highly effective active ingredient that targets the nervous systems of mollusks, leading to their swift control. What’s more, their formula is enhanced for superior weather resistance, which means they keep working even after rain or irrigation.
Deadline Ornamental Mini-Pellets is an advanced slug and snail pellet bait that protects high-value ornamental plants and crops from the devastating feeding damage caused by mollusks. It works fast, lasts longer, and gives you the clean, beautiful garden your hard work deserves. Featuring SNARE attractant for maximum lure and coverage up to 1,000 sq. ft. per 1/4 lb, it’s the smart choice for protecting your garden with confidence and ease.
Tools Needed
A handheld spreader or push spreader will be required.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Deadline Ornamental Mini-Pellets to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). To treat ornamentals, vegetables, strawberries (perennial), artichokes (perennial, annual), and citrus, apply 15 pellets per square foot. For small fruits and berries, use 12 pellets per square foot. Do not exceed 3 applications per season for vegetables, small fruits, and berries. Do not exceed 6 applications per season for artichokes (perennial), citrus, and ornamental plants. Do not exceed 2 applications per season for artichokes (annual).
- Step 2: Calibrate your spreader to the proper setting the load the needed amount of product.
- Step 3: Apply the pellets evenly as a barrier around gardens or individual ornamental plants, making sure the product does not come into direct contact with any plants. For best results, evenly distribute in a 1 ft. wide area. Avoid applying within one foot of vegetable or fruit-bearing plants not listed on the label, and keep the pellets strictly on the soil surface.
- Step 4: A repeat treatment can be made when 14 days have passed from the previous application for vegetables, small fruits, berries, strawberries (perennial), and citrus. For artichokes (perennial, annual), and ornamental plants a second application can be done when 18 days have passed from the first treatment. You may perform a second application for ornamental plants when 21 days have passed from the first treatment.
