D-Fense NXT Insecticide Aerosol

D-Fense NXT, manufactured by Control Solutions, is a new insecticide aerosol designed to deliver long-lasting control of bedbugs, cockroaches, and over 50 other problem pests. Its powerful formula reduces the chances of pests developing resistance to D-Fense NXT's active ingredients, Novaluron, Deltamethrin, and Pyriproxyfen.

This insecticide aerosol active ingredient offers 3 unique modes of action: 1 contact residual insecticide (deltamethrin) and 2 IGRs in Novaluron and Pyriproxyfen. The IGRs help break down the pest life cycle, especially that of bed bugs, preventing them from molting. The Novaluron in the D-Fense NXT formula also creates lethal physiological effects on bed bugs, hindering their ability to move around and grip surfaces.

D-Fense NXT features a 360-degree valve, which makes it easy to create flexible applications. Users can switch from a fan spray to a crack and crevice spray by simply flipping up the actuator. 

Tools Needed

No additional application tools are necessary as this product comes in a ready-to-use aerosol can.

How to Use

• Step 1: Inspect and identify the pest you want to treat and take note of the active areas where they are found or are hiding. You should also calculate the square footage of the area you would like to treat to determine how much D-Fense NXT you may need to apply. You can do this by measuring the area length and width and multiplying the two values (length x width = square footage). 
• Step 2: Remove the protective cap and direct spray away from the face. Hold the can 12 to 15 inches from the surface being sprayed. For general surface applications, apply D-Fense NXT at a rate of 10 seconds per 100 sq. ft. For spot applications, apply at a rate of 1 second per 2 sq. ft. Test the D-Fense NXT first on an inconspicuous area before use.
• Step 3: For crack and crevice applications, apply D-Fense NXT with the supplied actuator and injection tube to cracks, crevices, and void spaces where insects may be harboring, living, or breeding. For light infestations, move the injector tip along cracks at a rate of 3 linear feet per second. For heavy infestations, move the tip along at 1 linear foot per second. For bed bug treatments, remove bedding materials and treat the bed and box springs along the tufts, folds, and edges.
• Step 4: Reapply as needed once every 6 months until there is no further insect threat.

D-Fense NXT Aerosol can be used as a crack & crevice treatment, space spray, void treatment, or direct spot or contact treatment for a variety of insects in Apartments, Campgrounds, Non-Food Storage Areas, Homes, Hospitals (unoccupied rooms), Hotels, Motels, Nursing Homes, Resorts, Restaurants and other Food Handling Establishments, Schools, Supermarkets, Transportation Equipment (Buses, Boats, Ships, Trains, Trucks, Planes), Utilities, Warehouses, and other Commercial and Industrial Buildings.

When to Use

Make applications when you are experiencing a large infestation of pests in your home or place of business. Insect pests can be active all year round but are especially active in the summer and fall. Re-applications can be made every six months for continued control of targeted pests.

Safety Information

D-Fense NXT is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying this product. 

Special Considerations

D-Fense NXT does have a slight insecticide odor that dissipates shortly after spraying. While D-Fense NXT is allowed to be sprayed in food-handling establishments, it should be done only when the facility is not in operation provided exposed food/feed and all food/feed processing and/or handling equipment has been covered or removed prior to application.
