D-Fense Dust Insecticide
D-Fense Dust Insecticide
D-Fense Dust, manufactured by CSI, is a waterproof insecticide that controls many species of insects, such as cockroaches, silverfish, boxelder bugs, and many others, that occasionally invade indoors through small cracks and crevices in our houses' structures. To stop these pests from coming in, Use D-Fense Dust to create long-lasting residual barriers in the tight, hard-to-reach spaces these pests use to invade.
D-Fense Dust can be applied with the applicator tip on the bottle itself or with a handheld duster to reach deep into cracks and crevices where insects hide. It does not stain and is safe to apply to fabric surfaces. It also controls insects found on various types of ornamental plants and flowers.
When insects ingest D-Fense Dust, their nervous system breaks down, causing them to perish. This dust formulation can be used as a prevention treatment in weep holes, wall voids, and electrical boxes to prevent targeted pests from finding their way indoors. No mixing or liquid sprays are needed; puff D-Fense Dust in areas where insects are found crawling for up to 8 months of protection.
Tools Needed
D-Fense Dust can be applied without tools; however, we strongly recommend using a handheld duster with a long spout to treat tight spaces and hard-to-reach areas.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much D-Fense Dust to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the treatment areas' length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length x width = square footage). A general treatment of D-Fense Dust should be made at a rate of 2 to 3 grams of product per square yard or 0.5 lbs. of product per 1,000 sq. ft.
- Step 2: To use D-Fense Dust with a handheld duster, open the bottle and pour the appropriate amount of dust into the duster reservoir volume. Close the duster, shake it to break it up, and distribute the product. Most dusters should have a small iron ball or similar object to break clumps.
- Step 3: When ready, stick the duster spout into the area to be treated and apply. Be sure to get an even coating on all labeled surfaces in the area. Reapply as needed, depending on the magnitude of the infestation.
Where to Use
D-Fense Dust must be applied where targeted pests will make direct contact.
Indoors, you can apply D-Fense Dust around cracks, crevices, baseboards, flooring, behind wall sockets, and wall voids near electrical and plumbing.
Outdoors, apply D-Fense Dust inside weep holes, around entryways, and into wall voids. You can also apply dust directly onto ant mounds.
Do not apply this product in aircraft cabins.
When to Use
This product can be a preventative treatment when insects try to make their way indoors. It can also be used as part of an insect eradication treatment plan and applied in areas where insects are seen.
Safety Information
D-Fense Dust is safe for children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling or applying this product.
Do not use on surface areas or near utensils where food is stored or prepared.
Special Considerations
Although D-Fense Dust can be used outdoors, it is not meant for large-area applications. Also, apply in dry areas. If D-Fense Dust is to get wet, it will lose its effectiveness.
D-Fense Dust will provide long-lasting barriers to protect your home from invading insect pests. Most active infestations cannot be controlled through the use of one product. To prevent most infestations, you will also want to make a barrier application around your home with Supreme IT and monitor for pest activity with professional glue traps.

Please remember that this is a powder ... use a mask and gloves when applying this, and be careful if you have household animals. I had no problems with this, but I did keep our dog away from the areas where this was spread.
No, seriously, though :-)
I haven't had to use it so that's a good thing.
It's there if I need it.

Q:I see a reply does it kill yellow jackets, wasps near the ground. would it like wise kill them just underneath aluminum siding on the underside of the roof. Or the facia area where they get in between the siding?7/23/24A:It can be used on either of these sites to control wasps like yellow jackets. D-Fense Dust is best applied during the evening since these pests are less active during that time. A kill contact kill such as Stryker Wasp and Hornet Killer would also be suggested to control any wasps and yellow jackets you see flying outside the nest. https://www.solutionsstores.com/stryker-wasp-and-hornet-killer

Q:What is good to get rid of Tiny ants?3/18/23A:Tiny ants is a large term that can be associated with many ant species. First, you would have to determine the ant species which can be done with our DIY ant guides or you can simply bring the ant in a sealable plastic container to one of our store locations for proper identification by a Solutions employee. Careless identification can lead you to using the wrong or ineffective insecticides, which can be a waste of your time and finances. https://www.solutionsstores.com/ant-control

Q:Can this dust be used with Novacide spray on carpets to kill fleas?11/9/22A:Yes, they can be used together but keep in mind that D-Fense Dust Insecticide can be applied to rugs, but not carpet. In residential areas do not apply D-Fense Dust as a broadcast application to floors or floor coverings. To increase Novacide Flea & Tick Killer effectiveness, vacuum carpeted areas and other areas being treated before treatment and post treatment after drying. It would be best to spray a small area of the carpet before full treatment to test for color fastness, or dulling.
