Crabgrass Control Plus 0-0-7 w/ 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide, manufactured by Howard Johnson Enterprises, is an excellent granular pre-emergent herbicide that provides complete control over weeds and fertilizes turf, ornamentals, and wildflower plantings. 

One of the standout features of this product is its dual-purpose design. It contains 0.37% Prodiamine, an effective pre-emergent herbicide, combined with 0-0-7 fertilizer, which provides potassium for improved turf strength and disease resistance. Unlike many herbicides that solely target weeds, Crabgrass Control Plus also enhances turf vigor, making it more resilient.

Crabgrass Control Plus 0-0-7 w/ 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide is a season-long fertilizer and weed product that reduces the need for repeated applications. This herbicide prevents many grassy and broadleaf weeds such as poa annua, chickweed, crabgrass, and more, making it a comprehensive solution for pre-emergent weed control.

It can be applied with a push spreader, handheld spreader or broadcast spreader.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Crabgrass Control Plus 0-0-7 w/ 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the turf, apply between 2.7 to 9.3 pounds of Crabgrass Control Plus 0-0-7 w/ 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide per 1,000 sq. ft. For landscape ornamentals, use 2.7 to 9.3 pounds of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
• Step 2: Calibrate the spreader to the proper setting and load the correct amount of granules into the spreader. 
• Step 3: Ensure the grass and soil are dry before application. Apply evenly in two passes to prevent streaking or missed areas. Irrigate the granules with 0.5 inches of water after application. 

Where to Use

Crabgrass Control Plus 0-0-7 w/ 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide can be used in established lawns and ornamental turf (excluding golf course putting greens), landscape ornamentals and established perennials and wildflower plantings.

Do not apply to putting greens, or areas where dichondra, colonial bentgrass, velvet bentgrass or annual bluegrass.

When to Use

Apply before weeds are present in the late summer, fall or winter.

Crabgrass Control Plus 0-0-7 w/ 0.37% Prodiamine Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying this product. 

Special Considerations

This product must be applied prior to germination of weed seeds, as it will not control established weeds.

Do not apply to overseeded turf within 60 days after seeding or until after the second mowing, whichever is longer. Injury to desirable seedlings is likely if this product is applied before seedling secondary roots are in the second inch of soil (not thatch plus soil).
