Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide
Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide
Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide, manufactured by ICL Specialty Fertilizer, is an excellent pre-emergent herbicide that prevents troublesome grassy and broadleaf weeds like poa annua from developing in cool-seasoned turf, warm-seasoned turf, and landscape ornamentals for 3-5 months.
Controls and suppresses a high number of weeds during its germinating phase with the potent active ingredient pendimethalin 2.68%. With this ingredient, this product product will fully eliminate weeds such as goosegrass and crabgrass when ornamentals are beginning to show new spring growth.
Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide is a safe and effective pre-emergent herbicide that kills hard to manage weeds before they permanently damage grass and sod farms.
Tools Needed
Apply Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide with a spreader calibrated to deliver 1.7-2.6 lbs./1,000 sq. ft such as a rotary spreader.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To control weeds in field and field grown ornamentals, apply 114 lbs. of Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide per acre. Apply a repeat application application at 76 lbs. of product per acre after 3-5 months from previous ornamental application to extend control or control weeds that germinate in the fall. For warm-seasoned turf applications, use 75 lbs. of product per acre. For cool-seasoned turf, use 57-75 lbs. of product per acre. Do not apply more than 75 lb of product per acre to residential lawns, recreational areas (turf) and sod farms.
- Step 2: Calibrate your rotary spreader to deliver proper rate as instructed on the product label before application. Load the measured amount of Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide into the spreader.
- Step 3: Soil should be broken up by light cultivation and be free of all established weeds before applying Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide to ornamental sites. Any emerged weeds should be removed with a post-emergent herbicide or pulled by hand. Simply broadcast the granules across your turf then water it in immediately with 1/4 to 1/2 inches of irrigation to remove granules from foliage and to move the product to the soil surface. Do not destroy the chemical barrier on turf after application by raking or aerifying. For container plants, irrigate with approximately 1/2 inches of water to firm potting media around root system. After two regular waterings and foliage has dried, broadcast product evenly over container growing area. Water in with 1/2 to 1 inch of irrigation.
Where to Use
Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide can be used on the soil in turfgrass, container and field grown ornamentals, landscape ornamentals, residential lawns, recreational areas, sod farms, commercial areas and golf courses.
For use on established bermudagrass, St. Augustinegrass, centipedegrass, zoysiagrass, bahiagrass, and tall fescue.
Not for use on dichondra or on vegetables. Do not use on fruit trees that will bear fruit within 1 year of application.
Do not incorporate product into soil or potting media nor apply product directly to bare root of woody ornamentals.
When to Use
Apply Corral 2.68G Pre-Emergent Herbicide either prior to weed seed germination or following complete weed removal. For goosegrass, crabgrass, foxtail, barnyardgrass, fall panicum, Poa annua, cudweed, hop clover, oxalis, evening primrose, chickweed, purslane, knotweed, henbit, prostrate spurge and pearlwort, apply this product in the spring or fall before they sprout or after established weeds are removed.
For container grown ornamentals delay first application of this product to bare-root liners 2-4 weeks. First application to field grown ornamentals can be made following planting or prior to weed seed germination.
