CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer
CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer
CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer, manufactured by Helena Chemicals, is an easy to use liquid release fertilizer that provides supplemental nutrients for your turf.
CoRon contains a slow release nitrogen that provides rich, long lasting color for several days and helps to keep unnecessary surge growths at a minimum, while minimizing nitrate leaching (nitrate from leaving soil).
This product is recommended as a supplement to a regular fertilization program and will not, by itself, provide all the nutrients normally required by crops or other intended plants. However, CoRon is compatible with most fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides to allow for easier mixing applications.
Tools Needed
To use CoRon you will need a hand held pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much CoRon to use by calculating the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure in feet and multiply the length times the width (length X width = square footage). The application rate varies depending on the type of foliage you are trying to treat. For Bent grass apply 4.5 to 6.8 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year applied in multiple applications of 1/8 to 1/4 lb. of nitrogen. Bermuda Grass apply 9 to 11.5 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year in multiple applications of 1/4 to 1/2 lb. of nitrogen. Blue grass and cool-season grasses apply 3.75 to 4.25 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year applied in multiple applications. St. Augustine & Warm-Season Grasses apply 2.5 to 3.5 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year applied in multiple applications. Tree and Shrub apply 3 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. of landscape area root injected or flood-applied in minimum of two applications per year or foliar apply at 1 gallon of product per 100 gallons of spray solution. Ornamental and container grown apply 1/2 to 2 gallons of product per 100 gallons of water - Apply as a foliar spray or as a soil drench. Do not exceed 2.0 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per application.
- Step 2: To mix, fill your selected sprayer half way with water, add the appropriate amount of CoRon to tank, then fill the rest of the way with water. Close the lid and agitate the sprayer until spray mixture is thoroughly mixed.
- Step 3: Apply a coarse, even spray to coat the top and bottom of foliage leaves, but not to the point of run-off.
Where to Use
CoRon should be used in lawns, gardens, ornamental and horticultural containing Bent Grass, Bermuda Grass, Blue Grass, Cool-Seasoned Grass, St. Augustine, Warm-Seasoned Grasses, Tree and Shrub, Ornamental and Container Grown Plant Material.
Do not apply near water, storm drains, or drainage ditches.
When to Use
Use CoRon when plants are entering an active/prolonged growing season or when you notice there is slight discoloration in turf. Apply anytime as long as the turf is not dormant, typically this will be in the beginning of spring.
Safety Information
CoRon is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Special Considerations
As a slow release product it will take several days to see noticeable changes within turf.
Depending on the type of foliage, inaccurate application rates may cause injury to crops and environment.

Q:Looking to purchase this product for my lawn. I have roughly 12000 sq ft Kentucky blue lawn. I will be using a back pack sprayer that sprays 2.4 gallons every 1000 sq ft. I don’t know what my mix would be for this product. Suggestions?2/24/24A:You're aiming to supply 4lbs of nitrogen per 1000 square feet. So you will need 268 oz (roughly 2 gallons of CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer).
