CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer
CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer is a specially formulated controlled-release fertilizer that uniquely fits turf, ornamental, and horticultural feeding needs. Its formula enhances the green color of the grass and promotes a long release of nutrients into the turf.
01/11/26
CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer, manufactured by Helena Chemicals, is an easy-to-use liquid-release fertilizer that provides supplemental nutrients for turf.
This product contains a slow-release nitrogen, providing rich, long-lasting color for several days. It also helps to minimize unnecessary surge growths while minimizing nitrate leaching (nitrate from leaving the soil).
This product is recommended as a supplement to a regular fertilization program and will not provide all the nutrients typically required by crops or other intended plants. However, CoRon is compatible with most fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides, allowing easier mixing applications.
Tools Needed
You will need a handheld pump sprayer or backpack sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much CoRon to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To find the square footage, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). Depending on the application area, apply 33.5, 50.0, 67.0, or 83.3 ounces of CoRoN 18-3-6 Plus 0.5% fe Liquid Fertilizer per 2 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Do not exceed 2.0 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per application. For example, to treat St. Augustine and other warm-seasoned turf you need 2.5 to 3.5 lbs. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year which converts to 5 applications of the 33.5 oz. rate of CoRon 18-3-6 Plus to achieve the 2.5 lb nitrogen application rate in one year.
- Step 2: To mix, fill your selected sprayer halfway with water, add the appropriate amount of CoRon to the tank, and then fill the rest of the way with water. Close the lid and agitate the sprayer until the spray mixture is thoroughly mixed.
- Step 3: Apply a coarse, even spray to coat the top and bottom of foliage leaves, but not to the point of run-off.
Where to Use
CoRon should be used in lawns, gardens, ornamental, and horticultural areas containing Bent Grass, Bermuda Grass, Blue Grass, Cool-Seasoned Grass, St. Augustine, Warm-Seasoned Grasses, Trees and Shrubs, Ornamental, and Container-Grown Plant Material.
Do not apply near water, storm drains, or drainage ditches.
When to Use
Use when plants are entering an active/prolonged growing season or when you notice slight discoloration in turf. Apply anytime as long as the turf is not dormant; typically, this will be at the beginning of spring.
Safety Information
CoRon is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Special Considerations
As a slow-release product, it will take several days to see noticeable changes within the turf.
Depending on the type of foliage, inaccurate application rates may cause injury to crops and the environment.
