Cool Power Selective Herbicide
10/09/25
Cool Power Selective Herbicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is a selective broadleaf killer designed for cool weather conditions, showcasing its effectiveness during winter weed control, dormant warm season turf care, and early-season applications in transition zones and cool climate regions.
The expertly crafted formulation of Cool Power Selective Herbicide combines three potent active ingredients: MCPA, triclopyr, and dicamba. This triple-action approach ensures the eradication of a wide spectrum of broadleaf weeds.
Cool Power Selective Herbicide isn't bound by traditional spray seasons. It offers maximum weed control power in early spring and fall, extending your window of opportunity for effective weed management and is versatile enough for spot treatment under warmer conditions. Its adaptability ensures you have a solution for various scenarios.
Tools Needed
Most conventional liquid pesticide plant sprayers can be used to apply Cool Power Selective Herbicide such as a hose-end sprayer, backpack sprayer, or handheld pump sprayer. For larger applications, a spray rig may be used.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Cool Power Selective Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To calculate the surface area of water, measure the length and width in feet and volume of water body (length X width X depth = surface area of water). To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For ornamental lawns and turf applications, apply Cool Power Selective Herbicide at the rate of 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 pints in 20 to 240 gallons of water per acre, or 0.91 to 1.29 fl. oz. in 0.5 to 5.5 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet. When treating warm season turf that is completely dormant, the higher rates may be used. When treating warm season turf that is actively growing, use a lower rate. Avoid applications to warm season turf during transition from dormancy to green-up or green-up to dormancy.
- Step 2: In a large container, add half of the required amount of water and then add the appropriate amount of Cool Power Selective Herbicide to the larger container. Fill the container the rest of the way with the remaining half of water. Mix well and then pour into the sprayer tank.
- Step 3: Spray targeted weeds and brush until wet with Cool Power Selective Herbicide. If treating bodies of water that are approved by the product label, only spray areas where targeted weeds are growing.
Where to Use
Cool Power Selective Herbicide can be used for use on cemeteries, golf courses, parks, ornamental turf lawns, roadsides, and similar turf areas.
When to Use
Cool Power Selective Herbicide should be used as a post-emergent during periods of weed growth and when cooler weather is present in early spring and late fall.
Safety Information
Cool Power Selective Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
When using Cool Power Selective Herbicide, do apply to centipede or St. Augustine grasses unless conditions are tolerable, otherwise damage may occur. Avoid drift of spray mist to vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and other desirable plants. Do not pour spray solutions near desirable plants.
