Comite Miticide

Comite Miticide, manufactured by United Phosphorous, is a unique emulsifiable concentrate miticide that gives excellent contact control of various mites on bearing crops. 

This formulation contains the active ingredient propargite 73.6%, which works especially well against mites such as two-spotted mites, Texas citrus mites, and false spider mites. 

Comite Miticide is a professional miticide that controls a broad-spectrum of mites with quick knockdown effects and easy mixing for effortless applications. 

Tools Needed

To apply Comite Miticide, you will need to use a ULV sprayer or a chemigation system. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Comite Miticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). To treat potatoes, use 32-40 fl. oz. of Comite Miticide in 20-50 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: After spray tank is three-quarters full of water, add recommended dosage of Comite Miticide. Fill tank wiht remaining half of water and agitate until mixed.
• Step 3: Spray the Comite Miticide at the end of crop rows or directly above the canopy. Complete coverage of both upper and lower leaf surfaces and of fruit is necessary for effective control.

Where to Use

Comite Miticide can be used for listed bearing crops. 

When to Use

Apply Comite Miticide when mites are present and or in areas where they have been witnessed before on days when temperatures are above 70 degrees fahrenheit. 

Safety Information 

Comite Miticide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Keep people and pets out of treated areas for:

9 days after application for beans.

20 days after application for oranges & grapfruits. 

13 days after application for field corn and sweet corn. 

6 days after application for cotton. 

2 days after application for jojoba, peanuts, sorghum, and potatoes.

7 days after application for mint.

Special Considerations

Treatment is recommended when mite populations are just beginning to build, and the corn is still small enough (usually 3 to 4 feet) to allow good coverage. Ensure applications are made only when corn leaves are dry. This is especially true for white corn varieties which are the most susceptible to plant injury. Additional adjuvants in aerial applications are not recommended for use on corn in California.
