Clearcast Herbicide
Clearcast Herbicide
Clearcast Herbicide is developed by SePro Corporation and is a broad-spectrum herbicide that delivers effective, rapid control of a wide range of aquatic weeds. It will control emergent weeds, floating weeds, and weeds growing on the bottom of bodies of water. Clearcast has shown to be especially effective in controlling cattails. Clearcast is a selective herbicide meaning it will only kill the weeds you want to get rid of while leaving desired plant life and vegetation alone.
You can either apply Clearcast as a foliar, surface, or injection spray or you can even use it as a pre-emergent to prevent stubborn pondweeds from growing and making the water ugly. No matter how you use it, you can rest assured that Clearcast delivers.
Tools Needed
To use Clearcast you will need either a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or skid sprayer. We suggest using and adjustable tip nozzle to make effective applications.
How to Use
- Step 1: For pump sprayer or backpack sprayer applications, add 1/3 to 1/4 of the water to the spray tank first, then add the correct amount of Clearcast. For the proper rates, refer to the label as they vary by weed type and the size of your water body. Agitate the sprayer well to ensure the solution is well mixed.
- Step 2: Pump the sprayer and begin to spray uniformly over the water surface. The product begins to work immediately on contact. Sensitive plants stop growing within one day and break down as food and energy as food and energy reserves are exhausted.
- Step 3: Spray the solution until targeted areas are wet, do not over apply. Within 2 weeks make another application if needed.
Where to Use
Clearcast Herbicide can be used on a large variety of aquatic environments such as ditches, ponds, golf courses, and irrigation canals and can also be applied in a variety of ways.
When to Use
Use Clearcast when you are experiencing excessing pondweed growth on your water bodies and they are ruining the aesthetics of the water and getting in the way of recreational activities.
Safety Information
Clearcast Herbicide is safe to use around pets, livestock animals, and children when applied according to the product label. Clearcast environmental profile is very favorable and is classified as non-toxic to fish, birds, algae and aquatic invertebrates, and is the only herbicide on the market that has been granted the tolerance exemption by the EPA. Always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or making applications.
Special Considerations
When applying Clearcast as a foliar by boat, the boat tail must be adequately sprayed after passing through. it is also a great tank-mix partner with many other aquatic herbicides.
