The Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump, manufactured by Solutions, is an electric diaphragm spray pump that produces flow rates up to 5.5 (L/MIN) and pressures up to 160 PSI, making this low-volume pump ideal for agricultural sprayers or spray rigs.

Powered by a 12 Volt motor for high performance with various chemicals and pesticides in one swift application. This 1.5 GPM open flow pump draws only 10.0 AMPS, allowing it to continuously cycle throughout the sprayer tank for uninterrupted spraying of liquid pesticides, fertilizers, insecticides, and other materials.

Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump features a pressure switch operation, which automatically starts and stops the pump with minimum effort. Its self-priming function allows it to be mounted vertically or horizontally with the internal pump contents remaining protected.

Tools Needed

The Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump will need to be installed on a spray rig or appropriate equipment. Follow the manual or attached documents on your selected equipment for specified tool use.

Use flexible high pressure tubing compatible with the fluid to connect the inlet/outlet ports. Tubing should be either 3/8", or 1/2" [10 or 13 mm] I.D., and at least 18 in [46 cm] length is suggested to minimize stress on the fitting/ports and reduce noise.

How to Use

  • Step 1: To prevent electrical shock, disconnect power before initiating any work. In the case of pump failure, the motor housing and/or the pumped fluid may carry high voltage to components normally considered safe.
  • Step 2: Remove existing electric sprayer pump and surrounding wiring connecting the existing pump as instructed in your current sprayer model manual. Once the old sprayer pump is removed, you will need to mount the Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump in a horizontal or vertical position depending on the fluid viscosity and pump configuration. Refer to the pumps Product Data Sheet. If this pump is placed vertically, the pump head should be in the down position so that in the unlikely event of a leak, fluid will not enter the motor.
  • Step 3: Secure the rubbber feet with #8 hardware. DO NOT compress the feet, doing so will reduce their ability to isolate vibration and noise.

Where to Use

The Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump should be used with high-volume pesticide or fertilizer applications on residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Pair it with your skid sprayers, spray rigs, agricultural sprayers, economy rig, or other heavy duty electric spraying equipment.

This product is not designed to pump bleach products.

Do not use this product to pump flammable liquids.

When to Use

Apply the Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump when your electric sprayer equipment needs to deliver a better flow rate or when your current electric sprayer pump is worn or damaged.

Safety Information

Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product manual instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying and handling this product.

Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Electrical wiring should be performed by a qualified electrician, in accordance with all local electrical codes.

DO NOT assume fluid compatibility. If the fluid is improperly matched to the pumps' elastomers, a leak may occur. Pumps used to transfer hazardous or hot (max. temperature 170 degrees Fahrenheit [76 degrees Celsius] Viton TM only) chemicals must be in vented area to guard against the possibility of injury due to harmful or explosive liquid/vapors.

Special Considerations

If the plumbing is restrictive or the flow rate is very low, the pump may re-pressurize the outlet faster then the fluid is being released, causing rapid cycling (*ON/OFF within 2 sec.). If the pump is subjected to rapid cycling during normal operation, or for infrequent periods, damage may occur.

Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump is not recommended for use with corrosive products such as motor oil or transmission oil, but it can handle ECs which are petroleum based.

The PSI cannot be adjusted or lowered on the Chemflo 160 Electric Sprayer Pump, because it does not have a flow regulator.

  4. Q:1) Is this a triple diaphragm pump? If not, what type of pump is it? 2) How does it limit pressure to 160 PSI? Is there an internal bypass? 3) Can it pump non-volatile /non-flammable oil, such as motor oil or transmission oil?
    3/14/23
A:The Chemflo 160 is a double diaphragm pump. There is an internal pump shut off when it reaches max pressure, but doesn't flow back into the tank. There is no bypass; the pump shuts off when the pressure is achieved. It should be able to pump non caustic things, like oils, just nothing flammable.

  5. Q:What is the fluid flow at maximum pressure? Do you have a chart of flow vs. pressure? Perhaps an amps vs. pressure chart, too?
    3/13/23
A:At the maximum PSI pressure of 160 your fluid flow would be 5.5 (L/MIN). Amps would be 10.0.
