Celero Herbicide
Celero Herbicide
Celero Herbicide by Valent Biosciences is a selective post-emergent herbicide for the control of nutsedge and other weeds within established turfgrasses. Celero Herbicide is absorbed by plant foliage and roots to target unwanted vegetation.
Tools Needed
To use Celero you will need a pump sprayer or for larger jobs, a professional spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: To figure out how much Celero you need, you will need to determine the treatment area. To do this, multiply length x width to get the total square footage to be treated. Celero spot treatments should be done at a rate of 0.33 oz per 1000 square feet in a gallon of water. If you have a 5,000 square foot area to be treated, you would need 1.66 oz of Celero mixed with 5 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Since Celero is a WDG it is important to add the chemical to water. To mix, you will put water in your sprayer, then add the appropriate amount of chemical to the sprayer and shake it up.
- Step 3: Apply the Celero mixture to the target treatment areas, spraying to wet but not to the point of runoff. It is recommended to use a fan spray pattern for uniform coverage.
Where to Use
Celero Herbicide can be applied to established residential and commercial turfgrass for control of nutsedge and selected broadleaf weeds. Apply Celero Herbicide to turfgrass growing in areas such as apartment complexes, golf courses, sod farms, roadsides, sports fields, campgrounds, office complexes, parks, parking areas, recreational sites, schools, residential lawns and commercial areas. When applied as directed, the following established turfgrass species are tolerant to Celero Herbicide.
When to Use
Because Celero Herbicide is a post-emergent herbicide, it should be applied when you have noticed weed growth on your property. Make sure to apply when the temperature is between 65°F to 90°F when it is not too windy (when wind speeds are between 2 to 10 mph).
Safety Information
Celero Herbicide is safe for pets and kids when it has been applied properly according to the label and has been given time to dry. Be sure to wear the proper PPE before mixing and applying Celero (gloves, protective eyewear, particle mask, long sleeve clothing, closed toed shoes). Refer to the label for instructions on treating areas around water and edible vegetation.
Special Considerations
Celero has been discontinued from the manufacturer. We suggest buying Sedgehammer Nutsedge Killer as an appropriate alternative.
