Cavalcade 4L Herbicide
11/04/25
Cavalcade 4L Herbicide is a suspended concentrate pre-emergent herbicide that prevents a variety of weed and grasses before they emerge from certain commercial and residential warm-seasoned and cool-seasoned turfgrass.
With the active ingredient prodiamine 40.7%, this non-staining herbicide controls weeds such as crabgrass or panicum from the germination stage to prevent listed weeds from emerging in your turf and other terrains.
Cavalcade 4L Herbicide is a unique pre-emergent herbicide that can be applied at two points of the year fall and spring, which are the highest periods of weed germination.
Tools Needed
Cavalcade 4L Herbicide will need to be applied with a shielded sprayer, low-pressure sprayer with 50-mesh or coarser screens. We recommend using a handheld pump sprayer for spot applications.
A spray colorant may be used with this product to mark areas as they are treated.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Cavalcade 4L Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment site. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acre). Depending on the species of turf, apply between 0.23 to 1.1 fl. oz. of Calvacade 4L Herbicide per 0.5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. This product may be applied more than once a year as long as the total amount applied is not greater than the maximum application rate for each turf species.
 - Step 2: Fill your sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Cavalcade 4L Herbicide, then pour remaining half of water into the spray tank. Close the sprayer tank lid and shake until solution is evenly mixed.
 - Step 3: On a low-pressure setting, spray Cavalcade 4L Herbicide directly to the weed or over-the-top spray on soil where listed weeds have been previously seen. Irrigate treated areas with 0.5 inches of water or rainfall after application or at least within 14 days after application.

Where to Use
Apply Cavalcade 4L Herbicide in established turfgrass (excluding Golf Course Putting Greens), lawns, sod nurseries. As well as in ornamentals (container, field and landscape grown, including Christmas tree farms), right-of-ways, grounds of utilities, and ungrazed fence rows.
Do not use on food producing trees, vines, or plants. This product may also not be applied to areas where dichondra, colonial bentgrass, velvet bentgrass or annual bluegrass (Poa annua) are desirable species
When to Use
Cavalcade 4L Herbicide can be used in fall or winter before weeds germinate or after weeds are removed. This product may also be applied when light rainfall is predicted 24 hours after application.
Do not cut (harvest) treated sod before 30 days after application. To avoid turfgrass injury, do not apply to newly set sod until the sod has rooted and exposed edges have filled in. To avoid turfgrass injury, DO NOT apply this product to turf stressed by conditions such as drought, low fertility, or pest damage.
Safety Information
Cavalcade 4L Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing or applying this product.
Wait until 24 hours have passed after application or treated areas are completely dry before allowing people and pets to enter.
Special Considerations
To avoid grass injury, do not apply this product to creeping bentgrass mowed at less than 0.5 inch in height.
To avoid injury to foliage, make sure foliage is sufficiently wet before application or adequate irrigation is applied after application. If sprinkler distribution patterns overlap excessively, injury to leatherleaf ferns and other ornamentals may result.
