Broadstar Herbicide
Broadstar Herbicide
BroadStar Herbicide, manufactured by Nufarm, is an advanced herbicide boasting a range of features that make it a standout choice for weed control in commercial and residential landscapes, as well as for container and field-grown ornamentals, and non-bearing fruit and nut trees and vines.
Combined with flumioxazin, which acts by blocking heme and chlorophyll biosynthesis resulting in the accumulation of photo-toxic porphyrins, BroadStar Herbicide offers comprehensive pre-emergent and residual control for up to 3 months, providing extended protection for your landscape.
BroadStar comes in a low odor, dust-free granular formulation, making application a breeze without the unpleasant odor or messy dust.
Tools Needed
BroadStar Herbicide can be applied using clean, well maintained drop or rotary type granular application equipment. Refer to label for specific spreader settings.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much BroadStar Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For general broadcast applications, you will use 3.4 lbs of product per 1,000 sq ft, or 150 lbs per acre.
- Step 2: In your spreader, add the appropriate amount of BroadStar Herbicide and calibrate your spreader to the proper settings according to the label.
- Step 3: Spread BroadStar Herbicide over the treatment area and irrigate within 1 hour after application. After application, wait 4-8 weeks to evaluate results.
Where to Use
BroadStar Herbicide provides preemergence weed control in container grown ornamentals, field grown ornamentals including Christmas tree plantations, landscape ornamentals, non-bearing fruit and nut trees and vines, and bare ground non-crop areas
When to Use
BroadStar Herbicide delivers optimal results if application can be made when weeds are actively growing but before weeds canopy. For optimal preemergence control, apply BroadStar Herbicide to clean, weed free soil or mulch before weed seeds germinate
Safety Information
BroadStar Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal when mixing and applying this product.
