Brandt Indicate 5

Brandt Indicate 5, manufactured by Monterey, is a unique adjuvant that ensures optimal pesticide performance when the water quality is unknown. This product also functions as a wetting, spreading, and penetrating agent, helping to create an even spray over foliage leaves with selected pesticides.

This multi-functional adjuvant and water conditioner is the only adjuvant on the market featuring a built-in pH indicator. It turns the spray water pink as soon as the optimum levels of 4.5-5.1 are reached. Brandt Indicate 5 works by acidifying alkaline hard and soft water and neutralizing salts present in water, which can impact spray efficiency.

Brandt Indicate 5 eliminates the need to test the water pH with additional equipment. Many active ingredients, such as glyphosate, organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids, carbamates, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and triazines, may become deactivated in hard water, so an application with this product will help reduce these changes and increase pesticide coverage.

Tools Needed

This product will need to be mixed with a pesticide within a hose-end sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig.

How to Use

• Step 1: Examine your selected pesticide label to see if Brandt Indicate 5 can be mixed in the solution. Refer to your selected pesticide label for specific rates and restrictions. Add 5 to 6 fl. oz. of Brandt Indicate 5 per 100 gallons of soft water. For medium water hardness, apply 6 to 7 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. For hard water, use 10 to 20 fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. For extremely hard water, apply 30 or more fl. oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Refer to the product label instructions for specific application rates and restrictions.
• Step 2: Once you have achieved the desired amount of Brandt Indicate 5, you will then add other chemicals like liquid fertilizer or pesticides. Agitate the spray tank completely until the solution is well-mixed with selected pesticide. If the tank solution turns clear upon the addition of the remaining chemicals and water, add additional Brandt Indicate 5 until tank solution turns pink.
• Step 3: Spray the mixed Brandt Indicate 5 solution according to your selected pesticide label instructions.

When to Use

Use this product to adjust water pH to ensure success of sensitive pesticides and fertilizers formulated with glyphosate, organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids, carbamates, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and triazines.

Brandt Indicate 5 is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

This product has demonstrated excellent plant safety; however not all species of plants have been tested. Before treating a large area, test on a small area and observe results prior to full scale applications.

Special Considerations

Soft water treated with Brandt Indicate 5 will cause a rapid color change from milky white to pink. Hard water treated with this product will cause the color to change slowly from milky white to yellow to orange to pink.
