Boulder 6.3 Herbicide
Boulder 6.3 Herbicide is a high-performance post-emergent herbicide that delivers excellent results against woody plants and broadleaf weeds in forestry, pasture, rangelands, and other IVM sites.
11/04/25
Boulder 6.3 Herbicide, manufactured by Alligare, is a unique emulsifiable concentrate herbicide that easily controls broadleaf weeds, brush, and other woody plants in a broad-spectrum of sites, including turf and non-crop sites.
The herbicide features a unique, low-volatility formulation achieved through proprietary emulsifiers. This reduces the need for petroleum solvents, resulting in improved mixing characteristics and a more favorable toxicity profile compared to other triclopyr formulations.
Boulder 6.3 Herbicide is a high-load triclopyr herbicide formulation that enhances the efficiency against unwanted foliage and reduces the amount of product needed per application.
Tools Needed
You will need a knapsack sprayer, backpack sprayer, handheld pump sprayer, or spray rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Boulder 6.3 Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For spot treatments in ornamental turf mix 0.25 to 0.5 ounces of Boulder 6.3 Herbicide per 1 gallon of water per 1000 square feet. For broadcast treatments on ornamental turf, apply 2/3 to 1.25 pints of product per 100 gallons of water per acre. For spot treatments, do not apply more than 1.25 quarts of product per acre in a single application. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff.
Where to Use
Boulder 6.3 Herbicide can be used in forests, grass pastures, rangeland, CRP acres, rights-of-way, and in non-crop areas and ornamental turf, industrial sites and non-Irrigation ditch banks.
It may injure certain turfgrass species. Do not apply to bahiagrass, bentgrass, bermudagrass, centipedegrass, St. Augustine grass, or zoysiagrass, unless turf injury can be tolerated.
When to Use
Apply when weeds are actively growing, typically from early spring through late summer. Including the winter months, except when snow or water prevents spraying to the ground line.
Safety Information
Boulder 6.3 Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until the spray completely dries.
Special Considerations
Do not apply Boulder 6.3 to exposed roots of shallow rooted trees and shrubs.
