BotaniGard ES Biological Mycoinsecticide, manufactured by Certis USA, is an effective biological insecticide that utilizes the naturally occurring fungus Beauveria bassiana to effectively control a wide range of soft-bodied insect pests, including aphids, thrips, whiteflies, and mealybugs in organic farming and commercial sites.

As a mycoinsecticide, it targets and controls various insect pests by infecting them with fungal spores, leading to their eventual death. Apply this product with a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, aerial application equipment, spray rig, or chemigation system.

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much BotaniGard ES Biological Mycoinsecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For turf, orchards, and container ornamentals apply 2 to 8 fl. oz. of BotaniGard ES Biological Mycoinsecticide per 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For mushroom houses, use 2 to 4 teaspoons of product per gallon of water or 1 to 2 quarts of this product per 100 gallons of water. Apply between 25 and 50 gallons of this solution per 1,000 sq. ft. of bed space. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: To mix, fill the spray tank with half the desired amount of water and start agitation. Shake the product to suspend spores. Then, with the agitator running, slowly add the desired quantity of product to the spray tank. Add the remainder of the desired amount of water. Continue agitation throughout loading and spraying. Do not mix the product the day before application.
• Step 3: Spray the entire foliage until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Apply at 5- to 10-day intervals for low to normal pest pressure. For high pest pressure, especially whiteflies and aphids, apply at 2 to 5-day intervals. Repeat applications for as long as pest pressure persists. There is no limit on the number of applications or the total amount of product that can be applied in one season.

Where to Use

BotaniGard ES Biological Mycoinsecticide can be used on listed food and nonfood crops grown outdoors, in indoor/outdoor nurseries, greenhouses, shadehouses, mushroom houses, commercial landscapes, and interiorscapes, and on turf.

Listed turf that can be treated are Bermuda grass; bluegrass; fescue; St. Augustine grass, and zoysia grass. 

When to Use

Begin treatments of crops at the first appearance of pests.

Keep people and pets out of the treated area until the product has dried. 

Special Considerations

This product cannot be used with a thermal pulse fogger.
