Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate is an effective post-emergent herbicide that controls over 200 broadleaf weeds all the way to the roots in cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf for residential and domestic sites.
09/16/25
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate, manufactured by Bonide, is a superior post-emergent herbicide that quickly eliminates 200 types of broadleaf weeds in warm-season and cool-season lawns despite rain and cool weather.
Excellent post-emergent activity with four active ingredients, all of which help to remove weeds from top to bottom as a systemic formulation for safe weed elimination in turf. Provides visible results over hard-to-control weeds like prostrate spurge in a few hours of application or within 7 days.
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate is a rainproof post-emergent herbicide offering homeowners and owners of domestic sites like hospitals excellent weed control in low temperatures.
Tools Needed
It can be used with a backpack sprayer, knapsack sprayer, or compression sprayer.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For cool-seasoned turfgrass, mix 1.5 to 2.4 fl. oz. of Bonide Weed Beater Ultra in 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For warm-seasoned turfgrass, use 0.75 to 1.8 fl. oz. of product in 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. Spot applications on warm and cool-seasoned turf, apply 2.4 fl. oz. of product in 1 gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. The maximum number of spot treatments is limited to 2 per year with a minimum of 30 days between applications. The maximum application rate is 6.67 pints of product per acre per application.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Bonide Weed Beater Ultra, and pour in the remaining half of water. Shake the spray tank until the solution is evenly mixed.
- Step 3: Broadcast or spot spray the mixed Bonide Weed Beater Ultra until the top and bottom of weed leaves are wet, but not to the point of runoff. Do not irrigate or water the turfgrass within 24 hours after application.
Where to Use
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate can be used on listed broadleaf weeds within turfgrass of residential and domestic sites. These sites are defined as areas associated with the household or home life including, but not limited to apartment complexes, condominiums, and patient care areas of nursing homes, mental institutions, hospitals, or convalescent homes.
Do not apply this product to bentgrass greens, carpetgrass, dichondra, legumes, and lawns where desirable clovers are present.
When to Use
It should be applied when weeds are present on turf during spring, summer, or fall. Dormant turf applications can only be done to bermudagrass and zoysiagrass. Spot treatments during the summer can be done as long weed infestations are sparse or as a follow-up treatment to a previous infestation.
Do not broadcast apply when air temperatures exceed 85 degrees Fahrenheit; some injury may be expected with spot treatments when air temperatures exceeds this temperature.
Safety Information
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not allow people or pets enter treated areas until sprays have dried.
Special Consideration
Bonide Weed Beater Ultra Concentrate cannot be used on or near desirable plants, including contact of spray on exposed root systems or adventitious shoots within the drip line of desirable trees and shrubs, since injury may result.
