Bonide Sucker Punch Knock Out Sprouts RTU
Bonide Sucker Punch Knock Out Sprouts RTU is a highly-effective and user-friendly plant growth regulator that controls unwanted sucker growth and sprouts on apples, olives, pears, non-bearing citrus and ornamental woody plants.
11/04/25
Bonide Sucker Punch Knock Out Sprouts RTU, manufactured by Bonide, is an effective plant growth regulator specially formulated to prevent sucker growth and sprouts from emerging on trees and woody plants.
Suckers are vigorous shoots that sprout from a plant’s roots or trunk, often at the base. While they may seem harmless, these growths can interfere with the overall health and aesthetic of your plants by competing for water, nutrients, and light. By preventing suckers from draining vital nutrients, the product ensures that your plant’s energy is directed toward healthy growth and fruit or flower production.
Bonide Sucker Punch Knock out Sprouts RTU is a straightforward plant growth regulator that prevents and eliminates sprouts and sucker growth thus reducing the need for regular pruning, making plant-labor maintenance less labor-intensive.
Tools Needed
No additional application tools are needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Prune existing sprouts from plants before application. Determine how much Bonide Sucker Punch Knock Out Sprouts RTU to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). The maximum single application for ornamental woody plants is 3 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. The maximum annual application for ornamental woody plants is 9 fl. oz. of product per 1,000 sq. ft. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, then add in the proper amount of product. Next, pour in the remaining half of the water and agitate the tank until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Thoroughly cover the area where existing sprouts were removed but restrict treatment to the cut surfaces and 2 to 3 inches of the surrounding area. Avoid fine spray particles from drifting or splashing on surrounding fruiting wood or buds.
