Bonide MoleMax Mole and Vole Repellent Granules
Bonide MoleMax Mole and Vole Repellent Granules is a successful granule repellent that repels and protects lawns, gardens, and ornamental planting beds from moles and other burrowing pests for up to 3 months.
11/03/25
Bonide MoleMax Mole and Vole Repellent Granules, manufactured by Bonide, is a humane granule repellent that effectively controls and prevents plant-destroying animals within lawns, and other outdoor spaces without the use of harsh chemicals or traps.
Its active ingredient, castor oil, works by creating an unpleasant environment for these pests, encouraging them to relocate without causing harm. Each application provides up to three months of protection, saving time and effort.
Bonide MoleMax Mole and Vole Repellent Granules is an easy-to-apply biodegradable product that can control the most persistent of pests while also be used as a preventative measure for future burrowing pest infestations such as gophers, moles, voles, armadillos, and more.
Tools Needed
It may be applied with a broadcast spreader, push spreader, or drop spreader. You will need a handheld spreader for smaller treatment areas such as planting beds.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Bonide MoleMax Mole and Vole Repellent Granules to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To find the square footage, measure the treatment area's length and width in feet then multiply them together (length and width = square footage). Apply 1 pound of Bonide MoleMax Mole and Vole Repellent Granules per 500 sq. ft. of turf. For ornamental garden beds, place 2 tablespoons of product to the bottom of the planting hole and add 3 to 4 tablespoons of product to the soil mix before back filling. For bulbs: After placing bulb in hole, apply 1 tablespoon of product into the hole, making sure granules surround the bulb then backfill with soil.
- Step 2: Adjust the spreader to the proper calibration then load the required amount of granules.
- Step 3: To treat ornamental garden beds, sprinkle the product in and around the garden bed. Lightly water in after application.
- Step 4: To treat lawns, it will require multiple application steps done in 3 days total.
- Day 1: Spread the granules over the areas not yet invaded by the moles. Lightly water in the granules for approximately 10-15 minutes after application.
- Day 2: Spread the granules over the second area away from the undamaged lawn and towards the boundary of the lawn. Lightly water in the granules for approximately 10-15 minutes on the same area as day 1, plus the second area to get the moles moving.
- Day 3: Spread the granules over the third area away from the areas previously applied and towards the boundary of the lawn. Lightly water in the granules for approximately 10-15 minutes on the same areas as day 1 and 2, plus the third area.
