Bonide Eight Insect Control Garden Dust

Bonide Eight Insect Control Garden Dust, manufactured by Bonide, is a unique permethrin-based insecticide dust that protects home vegetable gardens and ornamentals from a wide range of pests for up to 4 weeks.

It is formulated with Permethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid that acts on contact to kill and repel insects such as elm spanworms, aphids, Japanese beetles, and more. The dust is easy to apply directly to plants, making it ideal for both prevention and active pest management.

It can be applied directly from the container or with a 10 oz. sized duster. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much Bonide Eight Insect Control Garden Dust to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For home vegetable gardens, apply no more than 13 ounces over 100 linear feet, or 13 ounces per 100 square feet. 
• Step 2: If you are using a duster, load it with half the amount of product. Gently shake it and turn it over to avoid clumping in the duster. Shake to fluff powder within the original container. 
• Step 3: Be sure to lightly cover all plant surfaces. If you are using the original product container you will need to lightly squeeze and release the sides of the container with your fingers to release the product. 

Where to Use

Bonide Eight Insect Control Garden Dust can be used on listed vegetables, roses, and flowers. 

Use with care on ferns, palms, and fuschia.

When to Use

Apply at the start of the growing season to prevent pests from establishing themselves or at the first sign of pest activity. 

Avoid applications when rainfall is expected to occur within the next 24 hours of application.

Special Considerations

As with all plants listed above, especially carnations, chrysanthemums, and roses, there exists a wide variety of species and cultivars, and therefore, a wide variety of susceptibility to injury. To ascertain possible phytotoxicity, dust a few plants as described above, wait 24 hours, and check for possible injury.
