Blackhawk Insecticide
Blackhawk Insecticide is a specialized, fast-acting insecticide that eliminates foliage-feeding pests while maintaining beneficial insect populations in various crops.
04/17/26
Blackhawk Insecticide, manufactured by DOW/CORTEVA, is a unique and powerful insecticide concentrate that delivers fast, consistent, and effective control of foliage-feeding insects across a wide range of crops.
Its active ingredient, spinosad, is derived from naturally occurring bacteria Saccharopolyspora spinosa, giving it a unique mode of action that disrupts the nervous system of targeted insects such as leafminers, armyworms, and lepidopterous larvae.
What’s truly special about Blackhawk Insecticide is that it delivers both knockdown and residual control. You get the satisfaction of seeing pests stop feeding shortly after application and the peace of mind knowing that the residual effect continues to work for days.
Blackhawk Insecticide is a dual-action insecticide concentrate that offers reliable performance against key foliage-feeding crop pests using a unique, biologically derived mode of action. Its fast knockdown and selective control help protect yields while supporting resistance management and beneficial insect conservation.
Tools Needed
A chemigation system or spray rig will be needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Blackhawk Insecticide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For tree farms and plantations, apply 1.1 to 4.4 oz. of Blackhawk Insecticide per 20 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until well-mixed.
- Step 3: Ensure thorough coverage of foliage until the point of wet, but not runoff.
Where to Use
Blackhawk Insecticide can be used on labeled crops.
When to Use
