BioSafe BioCeres WP

BioSafe BioCeres WP, manufactured by BioSafe Systems, is a powerful biological insecticide that knocks down troublesome pests in greenhouses and crop fields all the way to the day of harvest.

Unlike chemical insecticides that rely on neurotoxins or desiccants, this wettable powder insecticide works biologically. Once the spores of Beauveria bassiana come into contact with a host insect, they germinate and penetrate the insect’s cuticle. The fungus then proliferates inside the body, ultimately killing the pest and releasing new spores to continue the cycle.

Tools Needed

You may use a handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, spray rig, or chemigation system. 

How to Use

• Step 1: Determine how much BioSafe BioCeres WP to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiplying them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For ornamentals in parks and landscapes, apply 1 to 3 pounds of BioSafe BioCeres WP per 50 gallons of water per acre. To treat turfgrasses in parks, landscapes, and golf courses use 3 to 6 pounds of product per 50 gallons of water per acre. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions. 
• Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, then pour the remaining half of water into the tank. Shake the tank well until thoroughly mixed. Agitate constantly while mixing to prevent clumping. Do not mix more BioCeres WP than can be used in 24 hours.
• Step 3: Ensure good spray coverage of the entire plant canopy, especially the undersides and tops of leaves where pests hide. Do not spray to the point of runoff. Repeat at 5-10 day intervals as needed.

Where to Use

BioSafe BioCeres WP can be used for greenhouses, shade and ornamental trees, stone fruits, tropical and subtropical fruits, ornamentals in parks and landscapes, and turfgrasses in parks, landscapes, and golf courses.

When to Use

If attempting to control an insect population with a single application, make the treatment when eggs start hatching, but before economic damage occurs.

Pre-harvest interval for Bioceres WP is zero days. It can be applied up to the day of harvest.

BioSafe BioCeres WP is safe for people and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product. 

Keep people and pets out of the treated area until the spray has dried.
