Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer
Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer
Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer, manufactured by Bayer, is a odorless powder product that easily be applied to entire fire and harvester ant mounds without mixing or watering.
Due to its active ingredient, cyfluthrin 0.5%, and its dust formulation it immediately eliminates the ants after ingestion or contact as it sticks to the hairs on their antennae and legs.
As a slow-acting product, it allows enough time for the listed worker ant species to bring Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer further into the mounds, effectively killing the queen.
Tools Needed
Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer comes ready to use and can be directly shaken from the products container. You may also use a hand spreader for application above ant mounds. However, you will need to use chemical resistant gloves during application.
How to Use
- Step 1: Clear leaves, objects near the mound such as outdoor furniture, and other debris for best results.
- Step 2: Shake the Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer container well and remove the cap. You should not remove the foil shaker top. For hand spreader applications or to shake directly from the product, hold the container 12' to 18' above the mound. Apply 1 tsp of product (2 shakes) per ant mound. For mounds larger than 12' use 2 tsp of product (4 shakes).
- Step 3: For best results, follow application with a gentle 1 gallon sprinkling of water - high pressure will cause the ants to move the mound.
Where to Use
Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer is meant for outdoor applications within lawns, flower beds, ground covers, and around trees and shrubs.
When to Use
Use Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer during calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours to ensure the pesticide does not blow or wash off the treated area. Treat new ant mounds as they appear in your yard.
Safety Information
Bio Advanced Fire Ant Killer is safe to use around children or pets when applied according to the labels directions. Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) that protect your mouth, face, eyes, hands, feet, and skin.
Do not allow children or pets to enter the treated area until granules have been watered into the soil and the grass or soil is dry.
