Battleship III Herbicide
Battleship lll Herbicide is a powerful post-emergent that effectively controls a wide range of broadleaf weeds in cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf with its unique three-way formula.
10/21/25
Battleship lll Herbicide, manufactured by Helena Chemicals, is a superior post-emergent broadleaf weed killer designed to control various tough weeds in ornamental turf settings.
This herbicide concentrate contains two highly effective active ingredients. Dimethylamine Salt of 2-Methyl-4-Chlorophenoxyacetic Acid disrupts the weeds cell division and elongation, effectively killing weeds like dandelions, clover, and plantain without harming grasses. Fluroxypyr, the other ingredient, works by interfering with weed growth regulation, leading to cell disruption and weed death. This ester form improves penetration and uptake in tough, woody, or perennial broadleaf weeds, enhancing overall control.
Battleship lll Herbicide provides fast, effective control of stubborn broadleaf weeds while ensuring excellent turf safety and long-lasting results. The fast action and wide spectrum means fewer repeat applications, saving you time and reducing labor costs.
Tools Needed
A handheld pump sprayer, backpack sprayer, or spray rig will be needed.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Battleship lll Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. Find the square footage by measuring the treatment area's length and width in feet, then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). For acreage, take the square footage and divide it by one acre (square footage / 43,560 sq. ft. = acres). For residential turf, golf courses, sod farm and grass grown for seed uses, apply 1.1 to 1.5 oz. of Battleship lll Herbicide per 0.5 to 5 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. To treat larger areas, use 3 to 4 pints of this product per 20 to 200 gallons of water per acre. For spot treatments, mix 0.5 to 1.0 ounce of this product in enough water to make one gallon of spray. Refer to the product label for specific application rates and restrictions.
- Step 2: Fill the spray tank with half the amount of water, add the proper amount of product, and then pour in the remaining half of the water. Close the tank lid and shake until the solution has mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the top and bottom of weed leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Some hard-to-control broadleaf weeds may require a second broadcast treatment in 4 weeks. Do not apply more than 2 applications per year with a minimum retreatment interval of 21 days.
Where to Use
Battleship lll Herbicide can be applied to established cool-seasoned and warm-seasoned turf in Turf Lawns (Residential, Industrial and Institutional), Parks, Cemeteries, Athletic Fields, Roadsides and Golf Courses (Fairways, Aprons and Roughs) and similar turf areas; also for use on sod farms.
Do not use on Golf Greens or Tees.
Do not apply this product directly to, or otherwise permit drift or spray mist to come into contact with cotton, citrus, grapes, tobacco, vegetables, flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and other desirable plants.
When to Use
Applications should be done during warm weather when weeds are actively growing.
Avoid applications when rainfall is expected within 48 hours after treatment.
Do not treat warm-season turfgrass with this product when mowing height is less than 1/2 inch.
