Banol Fungicide
Banol Fungicide
Banol Fungicide, manufactured by Bayer, is a specially formulated water miscible fungicide concentrate that eliminates and protects turf and ornamentals from fungal diseases like pythium and phytophthora.
This systemic fungicide works by absorbing into the plant roots then moves throughout it towards the aerial portion, fully protecting the roots, stems, and leaves. Once applied, this product gives excellent residual control between 7 to 21 days.
Banol Fungicide provides business owners complete user safety due to its ability to be non-phytotoxic and flexible application timing as it can be applied on early-stage ornamentals intended for crop production.
Tools Needed
To apply Banol Fungicide, you will need either a handheld pump sprayer, hose-end sprayer, or backpack sprayer.
Do not apply this product through any type of irrigation system.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Banol Fungicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, measure the length and width of the treatment area in feet then multiply them together (length X width = square footage). To cure listed diseases on turf, use 3-4 fl. oz. of Banol Fungicide in 2 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To prevent listed diseases on turf, apply 1 1/3 - 2 fl. oz. of product in 2 to 5 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. To treat ornamentals, use 2-3 fl. oz. of product per 10 gallons of water. For woody ornamentals, use 2.5 fl. oz. of product per 10 gallons of water.
- Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer with half the amount of water, add measured amount of Banol Fungicide, then pour in the remaining half of water. Close the sprayer tank lid and shake until solution is evenly mixed.
- Step 3: Spray the mixed Banol Fungicide on the top and bottom of plant leaves until wet, but not to the point of runoff. Retreat every 7 days for plants currently infested with diseases and every 21 days for residual control.
Where to Use
Banol Fungicide may be used on commercial turfgrass and commercially grown ornamentals in greenhouses and container grown ornamentals in nurseries.
Do not use for field grown ornamentals.
When to Use
Apply Banol Fungicide on established turfgrass and on the seeding, transplanting (seedlings and cuttings), and potting stages of ornamentals.
Safety Information
Banol Fungicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to the product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.
Do not graze or feed clippings from treated areas to livestock.
Do not allow people or pets to enter treated areas until sprays have dried.
Special Considerations
Banol Fungicide does not afford broad spectrum disease control for Rhizoctonia sp. (brown patch), Sclerotinia sp. (dollarspot), or Helminthosporium sp. (leafspot). Use a broad spectrum fungicide if these diseases coexist with Pythium Blight.
