B&G Teflon Packing Valves
B&G Teflon Packing Valves
B&G Teflon Packing Valves are manufactured by B&G Equipment Company and is specifically sold for use as a specialty valve part for B&G sprayers with the Extenda-Ban Valve. These B&G packing Valves fit in the valve handle and are held in with the packing nut for a secure tight hold in the handle assembly. If Valve is leaking around the Packing nut, and the handle is wet, replacing the valve packaging washers can stop the leaking.
Tools Needed
To use the B&G Teflon Packing Valves, you will need a B&G Sprayer with an Extenda-Ban Valve and an adjustable crescent wrench.
How to Use
- Step 1: Following the manufacturer instructions, detach the valve and extension from the hose. Carefully remove the mesh strainer and squeeze the trigger to drain all the liquid from the valve.
- Step 2: Remove the Trigger, then the Snap ring ,Safety lock nut, the Adjustment screw, the Lock nut, and then the Packing nut. The Trigger can be removed by moving it to the back of the Valve.
- Step 3: Unscrew the extension at the front of the valve. The extension can be pulled away from the valve along with the interior steel cable.
- Step 4: Carefully dislodge and remove the white packing washers at the end of the cable and replace with the new Teflon Packing Valve washers. Insert 2 or 3 Packing washers onto the cable, then slide on the Packing nut behind the washers and tighten.
- Step 5: Reassemble the extension and valve and then taste the sprayer to see if the valve is still leaking or if the leaking has stopped.
