Drexel Auguzine Herbicide, manufactured by Drexel, is a water-soluble concentrate for emerged weeds and can also be used as a preemergent in St. Augustine grass and Centipede grass.

This product controls Anual Bluegrass, Florida Betony, and Spurweed, and does not need a surfactant. This product can be applied during dormant and growing seasons.

Drexel Auguzine Herbicide has a low mix rate and is easy to apply on home lawns.

Tools Needed

You will need a pump sprayer, a hose-end sprayer, a backpack sprayer, or a skid sprayer. For spot treatment, a pump sprayer is recommended. You will also need a measuring cup.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Determine how much Drexel Auguzine Herbicide to use by measuring the square footage of the treatment area. To do this, you will measure the length and width in feet of the treatment area and then multiply them together (length X width= square footage). For spot treatments, apply 5 tsps. of Auguzine Herbicide per 1 quart of water per 100 square feet. For maximum application, use 1.1 pints of product per 4 gallons of water per 2,000 sq. ft.
  • Step 2: Fill your selected sprayer halfway with water. Then you will put in your premeasured amount of Auguzine Herbicide. Finally, you will fill the container the rest of the way with water, seal the lid and agitate the mixture well.
  • Step 3: Apply the Auguzine Herbicide mixture, with a flat fan spray tip making sure to evenly spray the targeted area. Overdosing will cause severe plant injury and or death of the desired turf and under-application may not give anticipated weed control. Wait for 72 hours before watering treated emerged weeds.

Where to Use

Drexel Auguzine Herbicide can be used on established St Augustine grass and Centipede grasses.

Do not apply Auguzine Herbicide to Sand or Loamy sand soils where the water table is close to the surface. Do not apply directly to water or areas where surface water is present.

When to Use

It can be used any time unwanted labeled weeds need to be removed or when you want to practice preventative weed control. The product may be applied during dormant or growing seasons. Best results are usually obtained when applied early in spring or the dormant period when weeds are small and have not emerged.

To avoid accidental damage only use when calm conditions are present and the temperature does not exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

Safety Information

Drexel Auguzine Herbicide is safe to use around children and pets when applied according to product label instructions. Always wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when mixing and applying this product.

Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until the sprays have dried.

Special Considerations

Do not use Drexel Auguuzine Herbicide near adjacent desirable plants or in greenhouses. Avoid spray overlap. Do not use over-rooting areas of Trees, Ornamentals, vegetables, or other desirable plants other than the indicated Turfgrasses.
