Arborjet Arbor-OTC, manufactured by Arborjet, is a easy to use trunk-injectable tree antibiotic for the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections like bacterial leaf scorch in non-food bearing palms and non-food bearing trees.

This systemic water soluble antibiotic features oxytetracycline 39.60%, which reduces the development of drug resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of this and other antibacterial products.

Arborjet Arbor-OTC injection application method eliminates any strict application time frames as weather patterns could not render the products effects.

Tools Needed

To use Arborjet Arbor-OTC, you will need to pour this product once mixed with water directly into trunk injection equipment. It may also be used with a variety of root flare and/or trunk injection devices.

How to Use

  • Step 1: Measure the size of the tree you intend to treat to determine how much Arborjet Arbor-OTC you will need to use. To do this, measure the distance around the tree trunk. Measure distance in inches around the tree trunk at chest height (4½ feet from ground), and multiply the number of inches by 0.5 to find how much product you need. If measuring tree circumference, divide circumference by 3 to obtain the DBH in inches. Calculate the number of injection sites by dividing the DBH in inches by 2. Divide the total dose by the number of injection sites to determine required dosage per injection site. Example, for a tree with a DBH of 10 inches (or circumference of 30 inches). Divide DBH of 10” by 2 = 5 injection sites. Divide 26.4 mL by 5 injection sites = 5.28 mL per injection site. For trees with an approximate DBH of 500 inches, use 140 grams (5.0 oz.) of Arborjet Arbor-OTC with 1250 mL of water to achieve a solution of 1320 mL. For trees with an an approximate DBH of 100 inches, apply 28 grams (1.0 oz.) of product with 250 mL of water to achieve a solution of 264 mL. For trees with an an approximate DBH of 10 inches, apply 2.8 grams (0.1 oz.) of product with 25 mL of water to achieve a solution of 26.4 mL. For trees with an an approximate DBH of 5 inches, apply 1.4 grams (0.05 oz.) of product with 12.5 mL of water to achieve a solution of 13.2 mL. To treat one palm tree, use 2.8 grams (0.1 oz.) of product with 25 mL of water for a yield of 26.4 mixed solution. To treat 2 palm trees, apply 5.6 grams (0.2 oz.) of product with 50 mL of water to achieve a mixed solution of 52.8 mL. To treat 10 palm trees, use 28 grams (1.0 oz.) of product with 250 mL of water to achieve a 264 mL of mixed solution. To treat 50 palm trees, apply 140 grams (5.0 oz.) of product with 1250 mL of water to achieve a 1320 mL of mixed solution.
  • Step 2: Fill the Arborjet Arbor-OTC container with appropriate amount of water and needed amount of product. Then, secure the products lid and shake until the powder is well-dissolved before pouring into your trunk injection equipment. Dry out product container before refilling with unused product material.
  • Step 3: When using trunk injection equipment with stinger tips, make sure its a 7/32” diameter drill bit. Push the stinger needle into hole and twist right for a snug fit, start application, and remove the stinger needle upon completion. The stinger method requires no Arborplugs. Clean and disinfect needles between trees. When using trunk injection equipment with Arborplugs, you may only use a 9/32” drill bit for the #3 Arborplug and the 3/8” drill bit for the #4 Arborplug. Insert the Arborplug, countersink to the thickness of the bark using the set tool and hammer. Inject by inserting the viper needle, start application, and remove the viper needle upon completion. The Arborplug will remain in the tree. Future injections in the same tree are applied into new holes placed intermediate to the old injection sites. Drill new sites either above or below (by 2” vertically) to the old sites and 2 to 3” horizontally from them. Applied correctly, this will form a triangular pattern with the old sites.
