Akari 5SC
Akari 5SC
Akari 5SC is manufactured by SePro and is a professional-grade miticide made to treat mites and other plant damaging pests in greenhouses and nurseries. Akari 5SC features an effective stop-feeding action during application which puts an end to mites feeding and further damaging the plant but also makes them unable to lay eggs. The product works on mites at all stages of life and is an excellent choice if you want to protect your crops, vegetables and ornamentals from damage.
Tools Needed
To use Akari 5SC you will need to a high volume application sprayer such as a pesticide spraying rig.
How to Use
- Step 1: Determine how much Akari 5SC you need, by calculating the acreage of the treatment area. To do this, multiply the width by the length to get the area in square yards. Next, divide that number by 4,840 to get the total area in acres. The recommended rate for applying Akari 5SC is 16 to 32 fl. oz. per 100 gallons per acre.
- Step 2: Fill your sprayer with the appropriate amount of water and then add the appropriate measured amount of Akari 5SC depending on the problem pest you are treating and on what ornamental plant. Agitate until and then add in a recommended non-ionic surfactant like Alligare 90 to the solution to enhance effectiveness at a rate of 1/2 a pint to 4 pints per 100 gallons. Agitate until well-mixed and you're ready to apply.
- Step 3: Apply the Akari 5SC mixture evenly to the foliage using preferably a fan nozzle spray setting for uniform coverage.
Where to Use
Akari 5SC can be used to control mites in greenhouse cucumbers, greenhouse tomatoes, greenhouse tomoatoes, all ornamental crops including flowering and foliage crops, nursery crops, nonbearing fruit trees, and Christmas trees.
When to Use
Apply Akari 5SC when pests are immature or at a susceptible stage and populations are building, before crop damage occurs.
Safety Information
Akari 5SC is safe to use when it has been applied properly according to the label and has been given time to dry. Be sure to wear the proper PPE before mixing and applying Akari 5SC (gloves, protective eyewear, particle mask, long sleeve clothing, closed-toed shoes). Do not enter the entire treated area for 12 hours to allow the product to properly ventilate.
Special Considerations
When using Akari 5SC, maintain agitation during mixing and application. If agitation is stopped for any reason, the spray solution must be thoroughly re-mixed prior to further use.
